**⚠️ Warning!**
***Be aware of the new rules/directives when entering in Mexico ****
They don't give you 180 days automatically anymore but often only the days of the lengths of stay and asking for proof of hotel booking and sometimes a return ticket. It's random, but these days people are giving 15, 30, or 60 days most of the time and even without previous trips to Mexico.

Paying a fine when leaving the country is no longer an option as INM is removing this possibility and catching you with an expired visa will lead to detention.

Immigration is cracking down and also doing document check, they've started on ADO station/checkpoint and now it's all over the streets and can be done anywhere by INM agents and Guardia Civil. So have your valid tourist visa (FMM) + passport with you or you resident card at any time to be able to prove you are legit here.

Also, do not pay in advance for a 6 months lease rentals because unless you are a resident you don't know how many days you'll be granted when entering.
