Maltodextrin may be one of the most hidden culprits in your food!
It’s a refined starch that’s been broken down into a chain of sugary molecules through heavy processing. Commonly used as a cheap filler in packaged products, it often sneaks into ingredient lists under the radar.
Food manufacturers use it to add sweetness without labeling it as sugar — meaning products can appear “sugar-free” even though maltodextrin can still spike blood sugar levels significantly.
