The Dept of Surgery & Trauma successfully conducted a Nutrition Therapy Course on 27th June 2024 along with the Dept of Dietician & Catering and Pharmacy Dept HTAR.

This course was headed by our surgeons, Ms Hani & Mr Kamarul with the support of our Head of Dept, Mr Azuddin bin Khairy.

We had amongst us the renowned speaker Mr Mohammad Shukri Bin Jahit, Head of Dept & Consultant Upper GI and Metabolic Surgery from the National Cancer Institute, Putrajaya

Fruitful talk by Ms Tee Sze Chee, Consultant Upper GI from IKN and also our TPN Pharmacist, Pn Nur Ain Rosli Ahmad Abdullah from HTAR.

IPAA (ileal pouch–anal anastomosis) commonly known as J pouch surgery, successfully performed by our in-house colore**al surgeon, Mr Senthil and team.

The patient underwent RAPIDO-trial, short-course radiotherapy followed by systemic adjuvant full-dose up-front chemotherapy in 6 cycles, before total mesore**al excision surgery for a locally advanced re**al cancer.
