The Clinical Pathological Conference (CPC) titled “Cracking the Mystery of the Disappearing Cycle” organized by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, was a resounding success.

Held on 18 September 2025 via Webex, the session attracted an impressive turnout of 203 participants, reflecting the strong interest and engagement from both faculty and students.

The discussion was skillfully chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Pazudin Bin Ismail, with valuable insights from

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adibah Binti Ibrahim (O&G)
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazri Mustaffa (Int Med)

while Dr. Ashna Nageshar delivered an excellent presentation as the MMed student presenter.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Hospital Pakar Universiti Sains Malaysia proudly and happily welcomed this year’s Merdeka Babies, a total of 12 newborns here at our labour room on 31st August 2025.

Each birth on this historic date carries special meaning, as families and staff alike are reminded of the nation’s journey toward unity, resilience, and hope. The arrival of these little ones not only marks a joyous occasion for their parents but also highlights the dedication and compassion of the O&G team in ensuring safe deliveries.

MOG Orientation 2025: A New Chapter Begins

The Master of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (MOG) Orientation 2025, held under the esteemed patronage of the O&G Specialty Committee, marked a significant milestone for incoming postgraduate trainees. Proudly hosted by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) at thr grand Awana Resort World Kijal, this year’s orientation welcomed aspiring doctors from across the country into a rigorous yet rewarding journey in women’s health.

The event served as more than just an introduction—it was a celebration of commitment, resilience, and the spirit of lifelong learning. With a dynamic line-up of academic briefings, mentorship sessions, and networking opportunities, the orientation aimed to equip candidates with the mindset and tools necessary for success in both clinical excellence and academic growth adhering to the National Postgraduate Medical Curriculum (NPMC) using Work Based Assessment (WBA).

The completion of today’s Long Case and Short Case Assessment in the Professional Assessment marks a significant milestone for the 158 final-year candidates, who have successfully undertaken their Doctor of Medicine (MD USM) programme for the past 5 years.

This achievement reflects their hard work, clinical maturity, and readiness to advance into the next phase of their medical careers. We extend our sincere appreciation to the School of Medical Sciences (PPSP) for its steadfast support, the academic lecturers of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology for their unwavering commitment to teaching and assessment, and the medical officers whose cooperation and contributions were vital to the smooth and professional conduct of the examination.

The 32nd International Congress of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Malaysia (OGSM) took place from July 10–13, 2025, at the state-of-the-art Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Penang.

The congress, themed “Embracing Diversity & Inspiring Change,” brought together around 800 regional and international delegates, 90 expert speakers, and over 80 exhibition booths showcasing the latest advancements in women, maternal and fetal’s health.

Among the attendees were our Masters students and Specialist, who actively contributed to the academic atmosphere by presenting their research via posters presentation.
