When art tells the truth some people don’t want to face…
While in Florence, I stood inside the Duomo and looked up at The Last Judgment fresco inside Brunelleschi’s Dome.
Painted in the 1500s during the Counter-Reformation, this was not decorative art.
It was instruction.
Layer by layer, the dome depicts the reality of heaven, judgment, hell, sin, demons, and Lucifer himself—intentionally arranged to show order, hierarchy, and consequence.
An 8.5-meter tall Lucifer dominates the lower portion, surrounded by demons and the damned. The imagery was meant to evoke holy fear, not entertainment.
Fast forward to today.
I recently saw a video depicting a triangular hierarchy of demonic forces—an organized structure that’s been operating for centuries. Some Christians laugh it off. Some dismiss it as “too much.”
But here’s the truth:
The enemy has always been organized.
Scripture never describes darkness as chaotic—it describes it as strategic.
What’s dangerous isn’t acknowledging spiritual warfare.
What’s dangerous is being caught off guard by it.
The artists of the Renaissance weren’t glorifying demons—they were warning people:
These forces are real. You are not strong enough on your own.
And that truth still stands.
Our protection is not ignorance.
Our protection is not mockery.
Our protection is the blood of Jesus Christ.
Without Him, these forces are bigger than us.
With Him, they are already defeated.
“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” — Ephesians 6:11
This isn’t fear.
This is awareness.
And awareness keeps us anchored in Christ, not asleep in comfort.
