Check out our little heroes diving into their Oatmeal Baking Sensory Bin, a perfect mix of fun and therapeutic activity!

Sensory bins like this are incredibly important for our neurodivergent children for several reasons:

1) Sensory Regulation (Proprioception & Tactile): The texture of the oats provides a rich tactile experience. Scooping, pouring, and manipulating the materials helps to develop proprioception (awareness of the body's position) and builds tolerance and exploration of different textures, which is key for those with sensory processing differences.

2) Fine Motor Skills: Using the scoops, spoons, and small cups is a fantastic workout for the small muscles in the hands, improving fine motor control necessary for writing, dressing, and self-help skills.

3) Imagination & Play: The "baking" theme encourages imaginative and role-playing skills, allowing the children to process, imitate, and interact with the world around them in a fun, pressure-free way.

4) Social Interaction: As you can see, our heroes are engaging side-by-side, learning to share, take turns, and interact cooperatively in a shared play space.

It's all about play and exploration!

At Spectrum Heroes, learning never stops! 🌟

During the recent school holidays, our teachers were involved in a 3-day intensive in-house training to sharpen their skills and broaden their knowledge in Early Intervention.

From sensory integration, speech, primitive reflexes, to behaviour management and more, our team gained practical tools they can immediately apply.

These sessions were conducted by our very own leaders .malini_k Dr and Ms Cecily .

We believe that ongoing professional development is key to providing a safe, nurturing, and holistic learning environment for every child. 💪

Because when teachers grow, our children thrive. 🌟

Last week during the school holidays, our teachers at Spectrum Heroes took part in a Basic First Aid workshop in collaboration with . The training was conducted by .malini_k and Dr . It was hands-on and provided our team with essential knowledge and skills needed to respond to emergencies, especially when caring for children.
