🚨"Insurance, and how does it work"

However, real-life emergencies don’t always follow policy terms.
Recently, we handled a critical international medical evacuation involving a student who suffered a severe head injury during a school sports competition in Malaysia. The patient was intubated and admitted to the ICU at Assunta Hospital, Malaysia.

The family requested an urgent private air ambulance evacuation to Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, China. While a Letter of Guarantee (LOG) was submitted to the insurer, it was unfortunately declined as the policy did not include an add-on for competitive sports activities.

MedCall successfully completed an emergency cross-border ground ambulance evacuation from Hatyai Hospital, Thailand, to Singapore General Hospital (SGH) involving a patient suffering from Congestive Heart Failure.

The Singaporean patient was on holiday in Hatyai when she became increasingly unwell, experiencing breathlessness and difficulty sleeping flat, requiring pillows to sit upright. ✈️ Medical Evacuation from Prince Court Hospital, Malaysia to Apollo Hospital, India

MedCall was activated to transport a critically ill patient diagnosed with STEMI (acute heart attack) who was intubated in Batam, Indonesia, with transfer requested to Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), Malaysia. The patient had received thrombolytic therapy overseas and was fully informed of the high risks during cross-border medical transport.

🚑 ICU Air Ambulance Medical Transfer | Johor Bahru → Shenzhen, China.

MedCall was activated for a critically ill tourist who had travelled to Johor Bahru for a family visit and holiday.
The patient had a known history of stage 4 lung cancer and was undergoing treatment in China, with prior medical clearance to travel.

During his stay in Malaysia, his condition deteriorated, and he developed severe breathing difficulty. Despite using his personal portable oxygen concentrator, his condition did not improve.
