As I celebrate 2 and a half years of breastfeeding my son, I can’t help but remember those early days…
Days and nights when I felt stuck on the couch, nursing every 20 minutes. I used to wonder: Am I not making enough milk?Is my supply drying up? 🤭But what I later learned was that this was cluster feeding — not low supply.
It simply meant my baby was:
1. “Placing an order “ - telling my body to make more milk
2. Seeking comfort and closeness, especially during evenings, teething periods and growth spurts
The truth is, cluster feeding is just a phase.
It shows up during growth spurts, around 2–3 months, or even teething — and it ALWAYS passes.
💡 What helped me through:
- Having a comfy corner ready with water & snacks, or a phone to scroll 😝
- Skin-to-skin for extra comfort, side-lying position to get some rest
- Trust and lots and lots of patience
Today, looking back, I’m proud of how far we’ve come.
So to every mama in the thick of it right now: You’re not failing; you’re doing beautifully, and your baby knows it. 🌹❤️
