KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS) has urged the government to expand vaccination access points in the community, including through trained pharmacists, to help curb influenza clusters and ease congestion at emergency departments (EDs).

End of 2nd Day ECQaRP 2025

Closing ceremony for ECQaRP attended by Dr. Azuana binti Ramli, Deputy Director General of Health (Pharmaceutical Service Division), Pn Salina binti Setan, TPKN (F) Pahang, our Chairperson MPS Pahang Area, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Haniki bin Nik Mohamed and all esteemed VIP's and delegates.

Congratulation to all the winners.

Hopefully this program would be a bridge for research and quality initiatives in government settings and academia, also the impact to patients to increase efficiency and quality, as well as global standard practice to all healthcare providers.

Quality Initiative Forum; 1st round

First panelist:
- Science and Technology. Science first then gives the input in technology for access and optimization.

Second panelist:
- Human touch is still needed in the implementation of AI and technology to evaluate the output.
- Technology integration is crucial for steps forwards
- Using Australia pharmacy practice as an example; the integration of patients data is readily accessible across healthcare providers which reduce the medication error. Medication safety is the main concern in pharmacy.
- However there is a GAP in accesibilty of the data from the public facility and private facilty in our country despite the available huge big data and fast progression of technology

This event highlights the government effort towards Digitalisation in Healthcare held in this East Coast region at Swiss-bell Hotel in collaboration with MMA and MPS.

President of MPS, Prof. Amrahi also attends the program as the representative of Malaysian Pharmacists Society in support for this joint roadshow.

Highlight of the forum

Q: How do you foresee public will choose the many private digital healthcare provider present today?

Public (MC): nearby, cheap, quality

1. Patient safety

All digital product must comply with regulation which highlights patient safety. E-prescription is regulated in the Poison Act. You can find the registered prescriber and the pharmacist who dispense the medication online. If the digital product provider have this, and the private healthcare providers use this products, public can trust and make decision. Prescriptions must be screened by the pharmacist for patient safety.

2. Increase medical and health literacy

Provide and empower the public on health. Ex: Non-Communicable Disease such as Diabetes Education.
