Macrobio-Somatic Practice & Dance "Macrobiosomatic" is a term coined by integrating "macrobiotic" and "somatic".

"Macrobiosomatic" refers to a holistic approach that integrates various aspects of life, including diet, movement, and environmental harmony, to achieve overall well-being and vitality. It encompasses practices aimed at balancing yin yang energies within oneself and with the surroundings, emphasizing conscious eating, sustainable lifestyle choices, and cellular consciousness to foster vitality and age gracefully.

☯️Unlock Your Inner Balance: the Yin–Yang Front–Back Body Series in Penang | Day 1

We began with diaphragmatic breathing, starting from anatomy, then moving into massage and hands-on work. Slowly, we could feel the diaphragm begin to move. It was truly amazing.

We then stepped into the world of the Ren and Du meridians which’s understanding their pathways and benefits, and learning how to activate them through movement and self-touch.

To end the day, we practiced meridian scanning. I could see the students gradually developing hand sensitivity and also enjoying being scanned. We could feel the current, the flow of Qi, moving through the body.

And a special shout-out to the vegetarian lunch that nourished us all.

Student Reflection | Unlock Balance: Yin–Yang, Front & Back Body (2 Days), Penang

“I am a physiotherapist, and during my studies I was very aware that I was ‘understanding’ the material, but much of it was based on Western medical knowledge. Many things, especially anatomy, felt like memorization for exams. I could apply it at work, but I always felt something was missing—how to relate this knowledge to nature and to everyday life, so that my understanding could be more complete.

For a period of time, I even felt the need to step away from what I had learned, because it didn’t fully connect with my lived experience. I began exploring spiritual studies to understand their origins and their relationship to the universe.

After attending the teacher’s introductory class, I knew I had to join this two-day workshop. I felt that it could reconnect everything I had studied before. After these two days, I can truly visualize how muscles support and organize the body, and how this relates not only to anatomy, but also to daily life. Everything feels connected and very practical.

This experience helped me feel that my knowledge is becoming whole again. I’m really looking forward to learning more, especially if future classes in Penang explore different organs, to continue filling in what I have always felt was missing.” - LC

After a long break, our Fire Energy Series was back 🔥 We welcomed both new and returning participants.

In this series, we explored the meridians, starting with the Heart Meridian, which is closely related to 烦热 (restlessness/heat) and 心虚 (heart weakness). We learned how to observe these signs through the colour of the face, the tongue, and the little finger.

We worked with gentle stretching along the heart meridian and moved into dance to embody its energy. It was wonderful to fire up this series together.

Back-to-back with the lecture performance, there is a workshop I will be conducting, This workshop invites participants to reconnect with their bodies through the lens of embryology. Through guided somatic exercises, we will explore the characteristics and vocabulary of the front and back body, and the relationship between them. Participants will learn to sense how these inner dynamics influence posture, personality, and creative expression.

Through gentle movement, breath, and improvisation, the session opens a pathway from body awareness to creative discovery, transforming embryological understanding into embodied artmaking.

There is a rhythm, and it feels very comfortable. Human interaction nowadays is often mechanical and lacks warmth, but this feeling is very important. I’m deeply touched byKK’ reflections after the workshop. His words resonated with me. Each of us is born with an inner rhythm which unique and alive ; yet the flat, textureless surfaces of city life often make us forget it. 🌱KiTaRi Tree Energy Cooking Class 03

Our last cooking class turned into a little party with Nasi Ulam, a beloved local herb rice dish. Most of the herbs were lovingly planted by . This is a beautiful reminder of how important it is to eat local and stay connected to the land. The fresh green leaves are perfect for our climate and body, and this time, we replaced meat with marinated tempeh, keeping it wholesome and light.

This session also marked our gentle transition into Fire Energy, moving from softness to action, from earth to flame. Every step; from pounding sambal, to toasting coconut flakes, to preparing all the herbs. This all asked for patience, attention, and lots of heart. ❤️

Learn how to breathe more deeply by using your thoracic diaphragm which the main muscle that helps you breathe. This gentle practice will help you open your ribcage, release tension, and connect your breath with your whole body to feel more calm and alive.

In this session, you will:
- Learn about the anatomy of diaphragm and the xiphoid area in your body.
- Practice simple steps to activate and strengthen your breathing.

- ⁠Understand how deep breathing can support your body and mind.

Thank you for the invitation by to share about thoracic diaphragmatic breathing during Navarathri 2025 Celebration.

It’s always exciting for me to share this knowledge, no matter what kind of setting I’m in. Through touching and feeling each other’s diaphragms, I found that it broke the barriers between us and allowed our breaths to flow together in the space between. Even though it was my first time meeting this community, the shared breathing connected our souls and that was truly beautiful.

Besides, I was deeply thrilled to experience and learn about another culture and its beautiful celebrations. It was so touching to see entire families attending the session where you could really feel the love and dedication that Geetha and her family have poured into their students and community. I learned so much from this meaningful gathering and was also inspired by the work of her son, Hariraam, whose violin performance in the Indian ensemble sharing was truly remarkable.

Although the session was short, I can feel the warm support from Geetha, Ket and her family which felt comfortable and welcomed. I truly look forward to future opportunities to collaborate and explore more together.
