Chiropractic Care Shines at the 2023 IKF World Korfball Championship!

Our resident Sports Chiropractor, Sunshine Lau Siew Qin, representing the Sports Chiropractic Council Malaysia (SCCM) and appointed as Team Leader by the Federation Internationale de Chiropractique du Sport (FICS), played a crucial role. Alongside Dr. Hung-Chun Huang, president of the Taiwan Chiropractic Doctors Society, and Dr. Judy Hsu, they provided dedicated chiropractic care from 9 am to 8 pm each day, both at the hotel hall and Taipei gymnasium.

The 2023 IKF World Korfball Championship in Taipei was not just a sports showcase but also highlighted the essential role of chiropractic care. This event served as a primary qualification event for the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, drew 310 athletes from 24 nations under one roof!

Sunshine's holistic approach, including taping, mobilization, soft tissue therapy, stretching, manipulation, and motivational support, earned gratitude from the athletes (you can see it from their faces in the pictures!) emphasizing chiropractic care's significance at top-tier sports events.

This championship showcased the vital work of SCCM and FICS in promoting chiropractic care globally. Sunshine Lau Siew Qin's contributions, as a member of both organizations, solidify her role in advocating for chiropractic care in the Malaysian sports community, benefiting athletes at all levels.

Sciatica/Radiculopathy frequently results from herniated disc in the lower back. Pressure on one or several nerves that contribute to the sciatic nerve can cause pain, burning, tingling and numbness that radiates from the buttock into the leg and sometimes into the foot.
