Hello everyone!

We are sure that many of you have used the Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test Kits (Self-Test) from various providers throughout the past several months.

We would like to urge everyone not to believe everything they read on the internet as sometimes the individuals who publish these articles do not necessarily understand how these test kits are made to work. Additionally, they have not researched the functionality and science behind these kits before commenting and misleading the public.

We urge everyone to visit the MDA website to check which brands of Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test Kits are approved as these brands only get their approval after an evaluation is done by the IMR, MKAK or other approved laboratories and are fit for public use.

Subsequently, the various brands have all achieved the targeted sensitivity and specificity requirement before getting its approval.

Further, there are two lines marked 'C' and 'T' on the test kit. Regardless of how faint the line present on the 'C' and 'T' together (2 lines), it is considered a positive result. In most saliva kits, the user has to ensure the sample is collected from the throat (cough first, it is best to follow the tutorial video). The result will begin to appear within 5 minutes but it is recommended to wait till 15 minutes to confirm the outcome.

We highly recommend an individual who is testing to read the instructions for use insert provided in their test kits carefully before and whilst conducting their test to minimize the chances of error and to achieve a more accurate result.

It is also important to remember that the self-test kits should be stored correctly. Most test kits have a minimum and maximum temperature storage requirement and if is not kept within the storage requirement, the kits may not provide accurate results when used.

Please be cautious when purchasing your test kits and always purchase your test kits from a reputable and legitimate source.
