Our Story
Established in 1996 by Professor Dato’ Dr. Hassan Yaacob, Healwell Pharmaceuticals was formed with a mission to harness the rejuvenating power of the natural world to heal people.
An academician by profession, a scientist by choice and entrepreneur by chance, Professor Hassan’s journey began with a personal experience. His wife’s grandmother was in pain from an infected and swollen wound on her leg. Having refused treatment from the hospital, she chose instead to drink gamat (sea cucumber) water, a traditional medicine commonly used by the Malay people. To his surprise, the pain and swelling had subsided at a rapid rate. Thus, his curiosity with gamat peaked and he began his research on the marine animal that would change his life and the pharmaceutical industry in Malaysia.
After years of research and collaboration with other bright minds, Professor Hassan made his breakthrough discovery in the form of ‘Gamodulin’, an extract from gamat that promotes cellular rejuvenation and anti-aging.
Today, we use ‘Gamodulin’ in our products and the results show its effectiveness. We’ve helped people with severe diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and eczema improve their quality of life, and in some cases, cure them of their disease.
