Here’s something many people don’t realise:

When grapes are dried into raisins or sultanas, the water is removed — but the natural sugar and calories remain.

That means a small handful of dried fruit contains the sugar of a much larger portion of fresh grapes.

That’s why raisins and sultanas can be healthy — but also easy to overeat.

They’re:

✔ Naturally sweet
✔ Rich in antioxidants
✔ A good source of fibre

But they’re also concentrated.

The key isn’t avoiding them.
It’s understanding them.

A sensible portion? About 30g — roughly one heaped tablespoon.
