Dr Chin brings a wealth of experience in specialised neurological care, with expertise in Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders. His clinical focus also includes the management of Parkinson disease, tremors, stroke, migraine, neuroimmune diseases and neuromuscular disorders.

His clinical competencies include advanced neurological assessments such as NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) and Unified Dyskinesia Rating Scale (UDysRS), supporting accurate diagnosis and personalised care for patients.

Tuberculosis (TB) is once again in the spotlight, with Malaysia recording a noticeable increase in cases in early 2026. Over 3,100 cases were reported within just the first few weeks of the year, reflecting a rise of about 10% compared to the same period last year.

In his recent article, Dr. Chow Sze Loon, Consultant Public Health Physician & Occupational Health Doctor at Penang Adventist Hospital, highlights an often-overlooked issue. Beyond medical treatment, individuals diagnosed with TB also need understanding, dignity, and fair treatment in the workplace.

TB is a treatable and curable disease. However, stigma and fear can delay diagnosis, disrupt recovery, and even impact livelihoods. Creating a supportive environment is not just compassionate; it is essential for public health.

As cases rise, awareness matters more than ever. Early detection, proper treatment, and a culture of empathy can help break the chain of infection and support those on the road to recovery.
