Most emotional eaters don’t have a food problem.

They have a pain problem.
An overwhelm problem.
A stress problem.
A childhood trauma problem.

So when food becomes the only thing that brings relief… It makes sense to use it as a coping tool.

That’s why the real work isn’t about mustering up more discipline or willpower.

It’s about understanding what you’re trying to escape, and learning new ways to respond to or release what you’re feeling.

These 6 questions are a starting point.
Not to judge yourself.
But to understand yourself.

So you can finally feel safe enough to let go of what’s holding you back.

👉 Which question hit you the hardest?
Let’s talk below.

Rooting for you as always

I used to think something was wrong with me. But the truth is—I just didn’t have the right support, the right tools, or the right understanding of why I felt so out of control around food.

If you see yourself in any of these slides, know this:

✨ You are not alone
✨ You are not broken
✨ And change is possible

❤️ Save this post to come back to when you need a reminder.

I’m rooting for you—always. 🌼

DO NOT EAT THESE. Discard immediately if you recognize any of these in yours or a loved one’s kitchen. It’s the easiest act of love you can do for them today.

A French study in PLOS Medicine examined the impact of emulsifiers—food additives used to improve texture and extend shelf life—on cancer risk.

Researchers analyzed data from 92,000 adults over nearly 7 years and found that certain emulsifiers significantly increased cancer risk:

Mono & diglycerides of fatty acids (E471)—found in processed baked goods, margarine, and ice cream—were linked to:
15% higher risk of overall cancer
24% higher risk of breast cancer
46% higher risk of prostate cancer

Carrageenan (E407 & E407a)—a thickening agent in dairy alternatives, deli meats, and plant-based products—was linked to:
32% higher risk of breast cancer.

Cancer is complex and multifactorial, but one thing is certain: the food we eat plays a massive role in shaping our long-term health. Cutting out ultra-processed foods and focusing on whole, nutrient-dense foods is one of the most powerful steps you can take to reduce disease risk.

❌ You can’t overcome binge eating. No matter how hard you try, your genes determine how you act around food.

This? This is a myth that can be thrown straight out the window. And I’m going to explain why.

👉 Binge eating isn’t about your genes or lack of willpower for that matter—it’s a survival response. Your body isn’t sabotaging you; it’s trying to protect you. Restriction, stress, and unprocessed emotions all send signals that trigger the urge to binge.

👉 The problem isn’t you—it’s the methods you’ve been given. Diets, food rules, and sheer discipline don’t fix binge eating because they don’t address the root cause. The key is regulation, not restriction.

👉 Healing starts when you stop fighting your body and start working with it. Learning to understand and tend to its needs, rather than suppressing them - this is what creates real freedom around food.

👉 You are not broken, and this isn’t a life sentence. Sustainable change is very possible!
So the next time you think, “I’ll never stop binge eating,” remember these myth-busting truths—and know that real, sustainable healing is possible. 💛
