In light of the confirmed Covid-19 cases in Windhoek, at AWMI SOWETO MEDICAL CENTRE we already have measures in place and therefore for us it is business as usual!
We will be open as per recommendation to serve our patients and assist in the fight against Covid-19 during the announced lockdown.
To start with PLEASE DO NOT PANIC!
Remember to maintain basic hygiene at all times, Wash hands frequently, do not touch your face! And maintain social distance of 2 metres.
To further reduce the risk of spreading the virus these are some of the measures we are employing
1. AWMI SOWETO MEDICAL CENTRE will start to enforce a strict appointment system. At the time of booking please inform the receptionist if your consultation is for a respiratory condition. This will assist in segregating likely Covid-19 cases away from the general population, and protect hardworking frontline medical staff.
Booking number is (061)224446 or you can book directly from our page and website. Please utilize our real-time online booking system.
Our patients can utilize the same contacts for telephone consultations.
2. A screening form is available at the reception to identify likely Covid-19 cases.
3. At any given time, we will not have more than 5 patients in the waiting room
4. The babies and elderly patients will not wait in the queue, they will be served first.
5. There will be a hand sanitizer at the RECEPTION for all patients and its mandatory to sanitize hands as you come in.
6. There are no masks! The few we have may be issued to very ill patients who present to the practice - to protect the staff.
7. We still have limited stocks of the Flu vaccine. There will be no reservations - the shots will be issued on a first come first served basis.
To survive this pandemic, DO NOT get infected and if you have any suspicious symptoms PLEASE SEEK medical help AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Please stay home. Let common sense prevail!
