From the days of our heroes who fought for freedom, justice, and the gift of education, to the voices that rose against ignorance so that we might rise with knowledge — their labour was never in vain. Today, we carry that torch through the National Association of University Students (NAUS), shaping a future where education remains the bedrock of our nation’s progress.

As we celebrate Nigeria at 65, we honour their sacrifices and reaffirm our commitment to building on their legacy. Standing tall with resilience and vision, Nene Essien represents that enduring spirit of service, leadership, and hope for generations yet to come.

Happy Independence Day, Nigeria.

Dear Students,

Sexual harassment is a real issue in our universities, and many of us know how it affects lives silently. That is why the UNIVERSITY OF UYO has taken a bold step to officially present a Sexual Harassment Policy—a policy designed to protect you.

This event; is a chance for you to know your rights, understand how to report cases safely, and be assured that anyone found guilty whether lecturer, staff, or student will face strict sanctions.

By attending this event, you are not just coming to sit and listen but you are taking a step toward creating a safer campus where no one has to fear intimidation, victimization, or silence.

So, I urge every one of you to be part of this historic moment. Come, learn, and be empowered. Because tomorrow, you might be the voice that helps someone else speak up.
