A common belief about the intragastric balloon is that once it’s removed, the weight will definitely come back.
In reality, it’s not that simple.

This video shows a patient’s journey at three stages, before the balloon, after treatment and 2 years after removal.
Weight at insertion: 90.4kg (April 2024)
Weight at removal: 73.15kg (October 2024)
Current weight: 72kg maintained (April 2026)

The results you see today are not just from the procedure, but from the habits built along the way.

The balloon is a tool that helps patients adjust portion sizes, feel full earlier and stay consistent with a structured plan. More importantly, it creates the opportunity to develop healthier eating patterns and daily routines that can be maintained long after the balloon is removed.

What happens after removal largely depends on what was built during the process.
As shown here, with the right support and commitment, long-term weight maintenance is very possible. Weight regain is not guaranteed.

If you’ve ever wondered how to build a balanced plate without overthinking it, this post breaks it down into the essentials your body needs, like protein, carbs, fiber, healthy fats and vitamin C.

1. Protein (muscle repair & satiety)
Eggs, chicken, fish, beans, tofu, Greek yogurt, keeps you full and supports muscle growth.

2. Carbs (your main energy source)
Choose rice, oats, sweet potatoes, fruits and whole grains for steady energy.

3.Fiber (gut health & digestion)
Vegetables, fruits, beans, and whole grains help digestion and reduce cravings.

4.Healthy fats (brain & heart health)
Avocados, nuts, seeds, olive oil and fatty fish support overall function.

5. Vitamin C (immunity & skin)
Citrus fruits, bell peppers, strawberries and greens boost immunity and skin health.

You don’t need to eat everything at once or follow a rigid plan. Start by including a variety of these food groups in your meals and adjust based on what works for your body and lifestyle.

Save this and share with someone trying to eat better.

Foundayo is a once-daily pill (no injections) that works by mimicking the GLP-1 hormone to reduce appetite, control hunger and keep you feeling full longer.

Why people are talking about it:
• No injections, it’s just a daily oral pill
• Can be taken anytime, with or without food
• Helps reduce appetite & calorie intake
• Designed for those with obesity or weight-related issues

Clinical trials show users lost about 9%–14% of their body weight, and it works by slowing digestion and increasing fullness, so you naturally eat less.

Kindly note that this is not a magic fix, best results come with proper diet, exercise and medical guidance. Long-term safety is still being monitored.

What do you think? Is this something you would try?

Weight loss surgery like gastric sleeve, is often reduced to “the easy way out.” What people don’t see are the years of trying, the physical and emotional battles, the medical decisions, the risks, the discipline required after surgery, and the courage it takes to even make that choice in the first place.

Because of stigma, many people who have had weight loss surgery don’t feel safe or proud enough to share their stories openly. They’re met with judgment instead of understanding, assumptions instead of empathy. So they stay quiet, not because they’re ashamed of their progress, but because the world hasn’t always made space for their truth.

Choosing help is not weakness, using a tool is not failure, and healing your body by whatever safe, medically supported means is something to be respected, not hidden.

Let’s do better at creating space where people can speak honestly about their experiences without fear, without shame and without being reduced to a stereotype.

Getting a “line” means placing an IV (intravenous line) into a vein so fluids, medications or blood can be given. Sounds simple, but it’s not always straightforward.

Some patients have veins that are small, deep, fragile, or just hard to locate. Things like dehydration, low blood pressure, darker skin tones, obesity, chronic illness, or frequent hospital visits can make veins harder to find or access.

So sometimes what should be “one quick try” turns into multiple careful attempts because healthcare workers are trying their best to get it right while keeping you safe.

No one enjoys multiple tries. Not the patient and definitely not the person holding the cannula.
We’re trying, and we appreciate your patience more than you know.

The gap between these two people isn’t luck or genetics, It is choices.
Same age, completely different lives.

Somewhere in this post is the version of you being built right now, whether you’re paying attention or not. Your habits today are shaping one of these two people. The question is, which one?

It is choosing nourishing meals vs constant takeout.
“I’ll start tomorrow” vs moving your body today.
The small habits you repeat without thinking, like skipping workouts, bad diet, staying inactive, telling yourself “it’s not that deep.” But it adds up fast.

On the other side, it’s the small things too, like eating better, staying active, drinking more water, showing up even when you don’t feel like it.
Nothing extreme, just consistency.

That’s how two people start in the same place and end up with completely different lives.

So be honest, what does your current routine look like?
It’s not too late to make a change.

Fatty liver is becoming increasingly common in Nigeria and many people don’t even know they have it.

It occurs when excess fat builds up in the liver, often linked to diet, weight gain, diabetes or alcohol use. It can remain silent for a long time and when symptoms appear, they are often ignored or mistaken for something else.

Signs to watch for:
• Persistent tiredness or low energy
• Pain or discomfort in the upper right abdomen
• Unexplained weight gain or trouble losing weight
• Darkening of the skin around the neck (insulin resistance)
• Brain fog or poor concentration
• Irritability or mood changes
• Elevated liver enzymes on routine tests

These signs don’t always mean fatty liver, but they signal your body needs attention.

The good news is fatty liver can often be reversed, especially when caught early. Healthier eating, weight control, regular exercise and reducing alcohol intake can make a big difference.

Don’t wait for complications, if you notice any of these signs or have risk factors, get evaluated.

Here are some quick FAQs about anesthesia:

1. Will I feel anything during surgery?
No! General anesthesia keeps you fully asleep and pain-free throughout the procedure.

2. How fast does it work?
Faster than you think, most people drift off within seconds (as you can see).

3. Is it safe?
Yes! Modern anesthesia is very safe and your vital signs are constantly monitored by trained professionals.

4. Will I wake up during surgery?
Extremely rare. Your anesthesia team carefully controls the level to keep you fully asleep.

5. Why do we ask you to count?
It helps show how quickly the medication is working, and gives a clear, calm transition into sleep.

6. How will I feel when I wake up?
You might feel groggy or sleepy at first, but that wears off as the medication leaves your system.

There’s a lot of misinformation out there, so here are GLP-1 myths you need to stop believing.

• GLP-1 causes thyroid cancer in humans → This is only common in rats at very high doses. In humans, there’s no clear evidence showing a causal link.

• GLP-1 causes pancreatitis → Large studies show the risk is low. Patients are still monitored, but it’s not a common outcome.

• You will lose muscle → Weight loss can include some muscle, but this can be minimized with adequate protein intake and strength training.

• They only slow digestion → Slower gastric emptying is just ONE mechanism. They also reduce appetite, improve insulin secretion and regulate blood sugar.

• They boost metabolism → GLP-1s don’t significantly increase metabolic rate, they work mainly by reducing calorie intake and improving metabolic control.

GLP-1 medications do more than just help with weight loss. They improve blood sugar levels, reduce cardiovascular risk in certain patients and support overall metabolic health.
