Infertility is often treated like it is only a woman’s responsibility.
But the truth is, fertility is a shared journey.
In many communities, when a couple struggles to conceive, the woman is usually the first (and sometimes the only one) expected to undergo tests, treatments and scrutiny. Meanwhile, the male partner may never be evaluated.
Medically, that approach is incomplete.
Research shows that male factors contribute to infertility in a significant percentage of couples. Issues such as low s***m count, poor s***m motility, hormonal imbalances, infections, lifestyle factors, obesity, and certain medical conditions can all affect male fertility.
Yet male fertility testing is often simple and non-invasive compared to many of the procedures women undergo.
This is why fertility evaluation should always involve both partners.
Testing together does not assign blame, it provides clarity. It helps doctors understand the real cause and recommend the right treatment sooner.
Fertility is not about pointing fingers.
It is about support, partnership, and shared responsibility. If a couple has been trying to conceive without success, the healthiest approach is for both partners to get evaluated. Early testing can save time, emotional stress and unnecessary treatments.
The goal is not to prove who is “responsible.”
The goal is to find solutions together.
