✨ Be part of this Introduction to HAT Course for the Americas Region!

Nurses and midwives face challenging situations when seeking to offer a person -centered practice. Attention, listening well, the understanding of emotional states are some elements that can lead us to a compassionate practice that recognizes the individuality of our patients/families and at the same time, recognizes the importance of the resilience and well -being of the care team.

Through participatory-experiential sessions we train and learn together to take action in front of the challenges.

Thanks to the partnership with Nursing Now and Cavell, this is a free course for nurses and midwives from all around the globe.

This year's World Patient Safety Day theme is "Patient safety from the start!". The campaign is emphasizing 4 key messages:

1. Children aren’t small adults. They need care that fits them - their age, weight, developmental stage, medical needs, ability to communicate and specific contexts.

2. Safety first, always and in every health care setting. Children are most at risk in intensive care and during complex treatments.

3. The most common causes of harm are known - such as errors with medications and diagnosis, infections caught during care, problems with medical equipment, such as tubes or monitors, and missed warning signs when a child’s condition starts getting worse.

4. Safer care depends on safe systems and teamwork. Well-designed systems, supported staff and engaged caregivers keep children safe.

Here are some tips for health professionals to perform a person-centred care during children care delivery.
