ARTHRITIS

This is an inflammation of one or more joints, causing pain and stiffness that can worsen with age. Examples include:

Septic arthritis(infectious arthritis)
This can develop when an infection, such as a skin infection or urinary tract infection, spreads through your bloodstream to a joint. Staphylococcus aureus (staph) is the most common cause.

Symptoms include: fever, joint pain, swelling, redness, and warmth.

Osteoarthritis
This is the most common type of arthritis. It happens when the cartilage that lines your joints is damaged, when this happens, the bones in your knee joint rub together, causing friction that makes your knees hurt, swell or become stiff.

Symptoms include: joint pain, stiffness in the joint, loss of flexibility, reduced range of motion, tenderness or discomfort when pressing on the affected areas with your fingers, crackling or clicking sounds when moving your joints.

RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
This is a type of arthritis where your immune system attacks the tissue lining the joints on both sides of your body.
Let's break it down, the immune system, which is your body’s natural self-defence system, gets confused and starts to attack your body’s healthy tissues.
Symptoms include:
Tender, warm, swollen joints, joint stiffness that is usually worse in the mornings and after inactivity, Fatigue.

Gout
This occurs when too much uric acid crystallises and deposits in the joints.

Severe pain, redness and swelling in joints, often the big toe. Attacks can come suddenly and often at night.

Ankylosing spondylitis
An inflammatory arthritis affecting the spine and large joints. The condition is more common in men.

Symptoms include:

Pain and stiffness in your rib cage
Pain in your hips or thighs, heel, hand and foot
Pain that worsen in the morning or after you sit for a long time
Tiredness
Swelling in your joints
Skin rash.

The quality of been forgetful. When you find it hard to remember things.

HYPERGLYCEMIA(HIGH BLOOD SUGAR)

As you eat, food travels down your esophagus to your stomach. There, acids and enzymes(stomach juice) break it down into tiny pieces. During that process, glucose is released.

From there, the glucose goes into your intestines where it's absorbed and passes into your bloodstream.

The pancreas, an organ located inside your abdomen, just behind your stomach, releases insulin directly into your blood stream.

This insulin moves glucose from your blood into cells all over your body where it is used as energy.

This means, the pancreas makes insulin that is essential for allowing your body to use Sugar(glucose) for energy.

Without the pancreas producing this insulin, this glucose cannot get into your cells instead, build up in your blood leading to high blood sugar levels.

When the body has used the energy it needs, the remaining is stored in little bundles call glycogen in the liver and muscles.

When you go hungry and your sugar level drops, the ALPHA CELLS in your pancreas begins to produce a different hormone called glucagon.

It signals your liver to break down the stored glycogen and turn it back to glucose, which moves back to your blood stream to keep you going.

Just like the ALPHA CELLS, there is also these special cells in your pancreas called BETA CELLS.

This beta cells monitors your blood sugar level every few seconds. If your blood glucose level rises after a meal, they releases insulin into your blood stream to move them into the other cells in the body for energy.
