In Nigeria, girls with disabilities face layered barriers—gender, disability, poverty, exclusion, and violence.
But when access, skills, protection, and opportunity are provided, the story changes.

This video tells a powerful journey:
from exclusion to education,
from dependency to dignity,
from silence to voice,
from survival to success.

An inclusive Nigeria is possible—when no girl is left behind.

🙏 This initiative is proudly supported by Commonwealth Disabled People Forum (CDPF).

“A WORLD THAT INCLUDES WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES IS A WORLD THAT WORKS FOR ALL.”

This image shows inclusion in action. When women with disabilities are given access to knowledge, leadership skills, and safe spaces to express themselves, they rise as confident advocates and change-makers. Inclusion is not an act of kindness; it is a commitment to justice and equal opportunity.

Leadership grows where voices are valued. When women with disabilities participate in conversations on disability rights, self-advocacy, emotional intelligence, and public engagement, communities become stronger, fairer, and more responsive to real needs.

With the support of the African Women's Development Fund (AWDF), AWWDI continues to build platforms that empower women with disabilities to lead boldly and shape decisions that affect their lives.

“Inclusion is not a favor; it is the foundation of justice.”

Image Description:
A woman seated in a wheelchair speaks confidently into a microphone during a training session, while other women sit around her smiling and listening attentively. Flip charts behind them show topics on leadership skills and disability rights, creating a powerful atmosphere of learning, unity, and empowerment.

A WORLD THAT INCLUDES WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES IS A WORLD THAT WORKS FOR ALL

This image reflects the power of inclusion in action. When women with disabilities are equipped with knowledge on leadership skills, disability rights, self-advocacy, emotional intelligence, and public engagement, they become strong voices for change in their communities.

Inclusion is not about sympathy; it is about opportunity. It is about recognizing that women with disabilities have ideas, solutions, and leadership potential that can shape fairer and stronger societies. When they are given space to learn, speak, and lead, everyone benefits.

With the support of the African Women's Development Fund (AWDF), AWWDI continues to create platforms where women with disabilities build confidence, strengthen their voices, and take their rightful place in decision-making spaces.

“When women with disabilities lead, the future becomes fairer for all.”

Breaking Barriers to Education 📚♿

Happy International Day of Education.

Today we champion "Inclusive Education: Learning Without Barriers." For a child with a disability, the path to school is often filled with obstacles—from flooded streets to inaccessible buildings.

True inclusion means removing these hurdles so that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Education is for everyone.

Stand with AWWDI as we push for accessible learning environments for all.

Image Description:
A young girl sits in a manual wheelchair on a flooded, muddy road in an impoverished area, looking directly at the camera with a serious expression. Text overlays read "International Day of Education" in orange and "Inclusive Education: Learning Without Barriers" in black. The AWWDI logo is visible in the bottom left corner.
