Four cities focusing on getting Nigeria’s seed system right.👌

Over three days, stakeholders in Abuja, Kano, Jos, and Ibadan came together to review what’s working, what isn’t, and what must change as Nigeria updates its National Seed Roadmap.

From yam, maize, and cowpea to tomato, rice, potato, and cassava, discussions reflected real crop priorities across regions.

When climate data sits unused, decisions falter.

When it’s applied, farmers plan better, extension officers advise with confidence, and schools and health centres act on timely information.

That’s why we ran the Regional Maproom Training for North West Nigeria with NiMet.

Over four days, 47 participants from public and private institutions learned to interpret and use ENACTS Maproom products, exchanging ideas and collaborating with experts to turn climate info into action.

Two days of collaboration, reflection, and shared learning at the SPRiNG Annual Learning Event.💯

We joined over 20 partners and senior stakeholders for a retreat focused on deliberation, forward-looking discussions, and strengthening initiatives.

From interactive sessions to peer-to-peer discussions, we explored project performance, celebrated successes, and shared practical lessons driving real change in communities.

For us, it wasn’t just about showcasing the Women’s Livelihood Project. It was about listening, learning, and taking practical approaches home to amplify impact and strengthen collaboration.

Last week, the RISE Project — Resilient and Inclusive Agri-Food Systems Empowering Women and Youth in Nigeria officially launched.

Supported by .Affairs.Canada, RISE brings together government, private sector actors, financial institutions, women’s groups, and cooperatives to strengthen rice, maize, groundnut, and soybean value chains across Bauchi, Kaduna, and Kano States.
