As Breast Cancer Awareness Month draws to a close, the conversation must move beyond awareness to lasting impact.

At AMCE, we are aware that early detection, accurate diagnosis, and fair access to cutting-edge imaging technologies are the first steps toward improving breast cancer outcomes in Africa.

Our facility is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, including breast MRI and mammography, allowing for early detection and precise treatment.

Building a future where every woman has access to timely, accurate diagnosis requires more than technology, it demands commitment, awareness, and care all year round.

Despite high rates of occurrence, there are many myths surrounding breast cancer.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re debunking common misconception around the disease like:
•Breast cancer affects only women
•All breast cancers are the same
•All lumps equals breast cancer
•Mammograms can cause cancer

Let’s spread awareness and ensure patients have the tools to make informed decisions about their health.

If you have any concerns, book your screening today by calling +234707394006 or by visiting https://brnw.ch/21wX6d1.

We wrapped up Breast Cancer Awareness Month by participating in this year’s 2025 National Oncology Symposium and Annual General Meeting.

Themed “Medical Use of Radioactive Substances in Nigeria,” we heard from leading voices in Nigeria’s medical community, to explore innovative ways to use radiation in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

AMCE contributed actively, with Dr. Boules Gabriel delivering a keynote on collaboration to expand oncology access. The team also joined a panel on radiology and radiation medicine, sharing insights on innovations and challenges shaping cancer care in Nigeria.

A big thank you to the Nigerian Cancer Society for their ongoing commitment to raising awareness and improving treatment options and to our incredible AMCE team for representing us.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a distinguished member of our Board of Directors, Prof. Adedayo Onitilo, Director of Cancer Care and Research, Marshfield Clinic USA, alongside his colleagues Matthew Richardson (Oncology Sterile Pharmacist/ Manager-Pharmacy Services), Xuan Hu (Medical Physicist), Dr. Carol Grabowski (Radiation Oncologist), and Misty Lynn (Oncology Nurse).

Their visit allowed them to see our operations in action, resulting in a day of shared insights, warm collaboration, and a reaffirmed commitment to pushing the boundaries of healthcare excellence in Africa.

As Pink October comes to an end, Dr Boulès Gabriel reminds us that providing transformative care is at the core of what we do at AMCE.

Although we have made incredible progress, there is still much work to be done in redefining cancer care across Africa.

We extend our gratitude to our wonderful team who embody our mission and every patient whose strength stands at the foundation of healing.

Infection prevention saves lives.

This International Infection Prevention Week, we celebrate the heroes who keep our patients and staff safe every single day: our infection prevention and control professionals.

This year’s theme, “Stand UPPP for Infection Prevention,” reminds us that it takes all of us to stop the spread: Unite, Protect, Prevent, Prevail.

Together, we can create safer spaces for everyone, because prevention isn’t just a practice, it’s a promise.

Dr Boulès Gabriel, AMCE’s Clinical Director of Oncology, reminds us that the most effective and proven way to save lives from cancer is through early detection.

While healthy habits and good nutrition support overall well-being, screening remains the most powerful tool to identify cancer early and begin treatment when it offers the best chance of success.

Dr Gabriel urges everyone not to delay care out of fear:
“To detect something is not the end of the story, it’s the beginning of healing. We are here to help you get rid of the disease, so please don’t be afraid.”

We are proud to offer some of the most advanced cancer treatment technology in West Africa, including, high-precision radiotherapy and luxurious chemotherapy infusion bay.

Whether you’re coming in for a routine screening or starting treatment, know that our AMCE expert team will walk with you every step of the way.

“We deserve your trust and we’re here to earn it.”
