PURPOSE IN LOCKDOWN
It's often said that if the purpose of a thing is not known, the abuse is inevitable. This statement is true in every sense of it! Before I share what I mean, permit me to tell you a story about what happened to me in year 2020.
Remember year 2020 na...the year of pandemic which resulted to lockdown.
Now you remember abi?
That year was a significant year in my life. I had defended my final year project at the prestigious Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba- Akoko and returned home awaiting call up for service(NYSC). Then, it was everywhere in the news - the pandemic. Don't touch anyone. If you do, you may "catch" COVID and get quarantined.
Quarantine ke?
Ah...me that want to serve my Father's land?
So, I jejely stayed without the confines, comfort and security of my father's house. Personally , I could stay indoor for long, so at first, it wasn't a big deal. But wait, will I just be eating, sleeping and waking up each without doing anything else? It looked like boredom moved in with us but I thank God for using Baba Odeyemi and Baba Odesola of the RCCG to teach during the weekly services as we were viewing services on cable TV. Their teachings were really innovative. They kept talking about learning online to keep one busy.
Well, I jumped on the train. It was a train called YouTube learning. I learnt how to make snacks starting from puff puff, to buns, then fish roll, doughnuts, egg roll and meat pie.
Also, God also gave me wisdom to organise home lesson for children within the community then. "Abeg, make nobody come sue me o... after all none of my pupils caught COVID. I used my father's backyard. I had a total of 20pupils who were paying a token monthly for lesson. This means, while many individuals where losing their jobs, I had two sources of income from home. Who buys my snacks? My pupils of course!
By the way, I used bulk of that income(money) for organizing 5 conferences and a cooking show for singles within my vicinity(click the link in the comment section for more details). Mhiz Prestige would bear me witness. For me, God didn't bless me just to buy clothes, shoes and sanitary pads but to be a blessing to my world.
Mind you, I had people who supported me too o. Still in the spirit of celebrating Mother's Day, I can't forget to thank My Secret Superstar and Mummy Handan Laitu Handan for accepting , embracing and supporting my vision every step of the way. Thank you, my mothers.
Listen, I had teaching ability and I knew its purpose is to preserve those children in my neighborhood academically. Some who couldn't read before lockdown began reading before school officially opened.
The money God bless me with became a tool for equipping my generation with knowledge while many youths where turning to ma********on, p**n, depression and all manner of vices due to the lockdown.
Your life is tied to a purpose.
Stop abusing the reason for your existence.
You are not better than the dead.
In case you are not aware, only you can stop yourself from discovering and fulfilling that purpose.
Even lockdown couldn't stop me.
So, I ask, "Have you discovered and started fulfilling purpose?"(Answer in the comments)
