⚠️ HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, ALCOHOL & BP MEDICINES: WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Being on blood pressure medication does not cancel the effects of alcohol.
For example, a person taking a common BP medicine like amlodipine (or other antihypertensives) may still record dangerously high blood pressure after drinking alcohol.

❗ Important facts:

Alcohol can raise blood pressure suddenly

Alcohol can reduce how well BP medicines work

You may feel normal, yet your BP may be dangerously high

Very high BP increases the risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney damage

🚨 WHEN TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL IMMEDIATELY

If your blood pressure is 180/120 mmHg or higher:

❌ Do NOT wait

❌ Do NOT take extra BP medicine

❌ Do NOT assume it will come down on its own

✅ Go to the nearest hospital immediately
This is a medical emergency.

💊 IMPORTANT ADVICE FOR PEOPLE ON BP MEDICATION

✔️ Take your medicines exactly as prescribed

✔️ Limit or avoid alcohol

✔️ Check your BP regularly

✔️ Never change doses on your own

✔️ Report very high readings promptly

📌 KEY MESSAGE
Blood pressure should be controlled, not crashed.

Alcohol and blood pressure problems are a dangerous mix.

💙 Your health comes first. Always ask before you act.
