Today I went to the market to source for fabrics. I had planned my day so well(or so I thought) that I was sure I'll be back from the market before my kids came back from school.
I strapped my baby to my back and off I went. As I stepped into the bus I was excited about browsing the market and buying new prints and colors for my customers ☺️
When I got to the market, everything was going fine until I got to this particular customer who wanted burgundy and cream. I searched and searched but I couldn't find the exact shade of the sample she sent It's either its too dark or it is to light. I walked around for so long before I found both shades at the same store(Alhamdulillah !)
My joy was on another level . I quickly told the vendor the number of yards I wanted. And he measured swiftly. He package the materials for me, I paid and left hurriedly. As I was going, I realized the number of yards wasn't complete. I was short of half yard 😭
And his shop is upstairs. I had to go back and bought the half yard 🥹 by this time, my baby started to cry, the sun was hot, I was tasty tired and hungry and I was certain my baby was feeling the exact same way after being strapped to the back for nearly 3hrs.
I Sha got the material, look for boiled eggs to feed myself and my baby, and headed to buy beads (I have a cloth I needed to bead)
That's was how I started to look for bead o. I visited several shops and they don't have my sample. As I was walking to another shop to ask if they have it, I suddenly remembered my children in school 😳
I quickly checked the time and boom 💥 it was past three 😯 they closed an hour ago (it's test week) I quickly asked and the vendor confirmed that she had it. I paid, collected the beads and zoomed off.
I boarded the next vehicle I saw immediately I stepped out of her shop. I was silently praying my neighbor should be around so they can stay with her.
As the bus was gliding effortlessly on the road, I suddenly remembered I was not with my umbrella. I had forgotten it at the bead store. SubhanAllah 🥲
And the weather has changed. It seems like it would rain any moment 🌧️ ☔ I was just praying it doesn't rain because rain go beat me and my baby well 🥹
Well Alhamdulillah it didn't rain last last. As I got to my store, I saw my boys playing outside with other children and I was relieved 😌 but then if you see their uniforms and socks? They were literally brown 🟤 😭
I almost cried thinking of how I was going to wash them. Well Alhamdulillah tomorrow is sport day at least I can skip washing them today.
The struggle to satisfy our customers is real. May Allah bless our hard work. Aameen 🤲
