CHANGES
I stumbled upon a post yesterday on milky doughnuts. Do you
remember how it trended some months back? I remember when I was little, doughnut was just doughnut. It was basically a mixture of flour, yeast, sugar and baking powder and in some cases if you were privileged enough you would buy the ones containing jam. Few years later, a new trend of doughnuts came into being and this was the type that had something drizzled on it and oh it was such the rave and such a delight to eat them. Then came this year, a new brand of doughnut arose and they were called milky doughnuts and if you haven’t eaten this type it seems as if you were missing out on something grand and oh boy they were super expensive when compared to your regular doughnut of the sum of three hundred naira. Now relating this to the career world, when we were growing up, the careers that were common or if you asked a child what he or she wanted to become you will hear something like this, doctor, lawyer and engineer. Every child had such careers in their mind. Try calling a child now and ask the child what he/she wants to become you will discover that they are gravitating towards other fields just like we gravitated towards milky doughnuts. You will also discover that children no longer want to choose those careers we once dreamt of when we were little.
