International Day of Persons with Disabilities: Choosing Inclusion, Dignity, and Possibility.

Today, we join the rest of the world in marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD). It’s a day that reminds us of something simple but important: everyone deserves the chance to live, grow, and succeed without unnecessary barriers.

At LMIDC, we deeply value the strength, creativity, and unique perspectives within the disability community. And we also recognize our shared responsibility to make our world kinder, more accessible, and more understanding.

This year’s theme encourages us to go beyond just talking about inclusion- to actually practice it. That means creating spaces, systems, and relationships that allow people of all abilities to be fully seen, fully heard, and fully supported.

So today, we commit to:
🔹 Designing with accessibility in mind
🔹 Challenging stereotypes wherever we see them
🔹 Supporting the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of all people
🔹 Advocating for equal opportunities and rights
🔹 Celebrating the contributions and achievements of persons with disabilities

Every intentional act of inclusion- no matter how small- helps build a world where everyone has room to thrive.

At LMIDC, we believe in possibility, equity, and shared humanity- today and always.
Let’s keep moving toward a future where no one is left out, and everyone is empowered.

One thing we often do not talk about enough is Wrong Empathy.

It's what happens when your "care" ends up reminding someone living with a disability of limits they didn't ask you to point out.

Imagine this:

Someone with a physical disability offers to help you take a picture.
You quickly say, "No don't worry, I'll get someone else to do it."

You think you're being kind, but what you have really done is highlight a limitation he never mentioned, and didn't need help remembering.

Sometimes, care can unintentionally wound.
Sometimes, kindness can quietly reduce the other person's confidence.

You care should never disempower someone.

This is why at LMIDC, we don't just care- WE EMBRACE, EMPOWER, ELEVATE.

We help you see your abilities louder than any disability, and create opportunities for you to grow, participate, and thrive.

If you believe people deserve support that lifts them, not limit them, you belong with us.

Trust us with your loved ones, friends and those you care about, and let's empower their abilities together.

Epilepsy Is Not a Joke. Let’s Speak Up.

The trending may seem like harmless fun to some, but it is deeply hurtful and offensive to individuals living with epilepsy, a serious neurological condition that causes real, often unpredictable and life-altering seizures.

Mocking seizures for entertainment is not just insensitive; it reinforces harmful stereotypes, spreads misinformation, and strips people of their dignity.

Epilepsy is not a performance. It’s a lived reality for millions.

At LMIDC, we stand for respect, empathy, and inclusion. We urge everyone to use their platforms to educate, not mock; to advocate, not ridicule.

Let’s raise awareness, replace stigma with understanding, and stand with those affected by epilepsy.

📣 Repost. Educate. Speak up. Let’s end the stigma together.

PLEASE, let's stand together against the dance challenge that's mocking people with epilepsy!

Epilepsy is a neurological condition that affects millions worldwide, causing seizures that can be unpredictable and debilitating. It's not something to be trivialized or made fun of.

😭

The challenge is hurtful and stigmatizing, perpetuating negative stereotypes and misconceptions about epilepsy. It's time to raise awareness and promote understanding!

Let's use our platforms to educate ourselves and others about epilepsy, its causes, and its effects. Let's show empathy and support for those living with this condition.

Together, we can create a more inclusive and compassionate society.

PLEASE ADD YOUR VOICE BY REPOSTING.
