I had the pleasure of hosting the dedicated staff of the Ministry of Finance and recognizing excellence through performance-based rewards.

I am proud to celebrate Mr. Pius Offor, our Best Performing Staff, who was presented with a mini bus in appreciation of his exceptional commitment and service. The gift is expected to support his socio-economic advancement and further empower his productivity. Other outstanding staff members were also rewarded with prizes including televisions, fridges, and irons.

Rewarding diligence and excellence remains a core part of our commitment to building a motivated and results-driven public service. I look forward to a more productive year of growth, accountability, and shared progress.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of partaking in the Bikers’ Carnival, an event that was vibrantly attended and full of colour, energy, and camaraderie. The presence of the Executive Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Prince Bassey Edet Otu further underscored the significance of this gathering, as bikers’ groups from across the state and country came together in unity and celebration.

It was a truly fun and memorable experience, reflecting the spirit of community, creativity, and tourism that continues to define Cross River State. Events like this not only promote leisure and culture but also strengthen social bonds and showcase the diverse talents and passions within our state.

I look forward to continued engagements that celebrate our people and reinforce Cross River State as a hub of culture, inclusivity, and shared progress.

Yesterday, we celebrated culture, history, and identity at the Ogoja Carnival, themed “Traces of Time.”

It was an honour to lead the Legacy Band of Bekwarra, proudly representing the good people of Bekwarra and showcasing the richness of our heritage. The energy, creativity, and unity on display reflected the depth of our shared history and the promise of our collective future.

I was pleased to join the Deputy Governor, my colleagues in the State Executive Council, and other leaders from the Northern Senatorial District as we witnessed a truly successful and memorable carnival.

Cross River’s culture remains our strength, our story, and our legacy.

Yesterday I returned to my village to celebrate the season and spend quality time with my people, marking a deeply fulfilling day of service and giving.

In the true spirit of service, I awarded scholarships to 16 families in Ochagbe “The Sweet 16” and to four families in Okpeche, reaffirming my belief that education remains one of the strongest investments we can make in our future.

I also donated a grotto of Our Lady of Perpetual Help to the community, and provided wheelchair and Christmas packages that were distributed across the different wards in Bekwarra. These gestures reflect my commitment to supporting our communities and ensuring that no one is left behind.

“Christmas is a season of love, compassion, and giving,” I said during the visit. “It reminds us to reach out, to share what we have, and to uplift those who may not be as fortunate. As we celebrate, let us all be intentional about kindness, generosity, and community.”

I remain committed to continuing this work. Together, I will continue to do my part to build a Bekwarra where hope is shared and progress is collective.

An unforgettable evening of flair and drama at Thomas McGeerick School of Technology, Ogoja. I organized a friendly football game between Ogoja AllStars and Bekwarra AllStars and starred in it, scoring the evening’s opening goal as the game ended in a 1-1 draw. A contest that began as a friendly tie became an unforgettable showcase of skill, suspense, and community spirit.

This week has been an interesting and fulfilling one. From productive indoor meetings to the inauguration of members of the AFSNET team, I’m truly grateful for every victory: big and small. Each moment came with its own lessons, and I carry them forward with appreciation.

As we move into a new week and inch closer to the end of the year, I remain committed, optimistic, and ready for what’s ahead.
