H!v can be transmitted to one person to another in it’s early stage even without the host knowing. During this period, it could be very dangerous, yet easiest to overlook.
H!V stands for Human immunodeficiency Virus 🦠, this is a virus that weakens your immune system by attacking the T cells, which are responsible for fighting infection.
NB: If H!V is left untreated, it can lead to AIDS - Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, this is a much more severe stage of H!V.
One can have this virus for years, without knowing, that’s why early testing is very important, especially when you feel you have been exposed, although some may show no symptoms at all.
➡️ HOW IS H!V TRANSMITTED?
It can be transmitted through certain bodily fluids - bl00d, breastm!lk, re**al fluids, semen ând vag!nal fluids.
NB: The most common ways people get this virus is through unpr0tected s€x with an infected person, sharing needles or sharp objects, like blades, clippers, nail cuticles or exposure/contact with contaminated bl00d.
⬇️You cannot get h!v by sharing foods, sleeping on the same bed, shaking hands, hugging or even kissing.
After exposure, typically within 2 to 4 weeks after exposure ( Acute stage) one may start noticing certain changes or symptoms in their body.
🌸Let’s talk about some early signs/symptoms of H!V🌸
1. Flu like symptoms like - Sore throat,,swollen lymph nodes
2. Fever
3. Persistent tiredness (fatigue)
4. Joint pains
5. Night sweat
6. Dry long lasting dreaded cough
7. Skin infection
8. Digestive issues - Diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting
NB: Not everyone with H!V would experience all the symptoms or same symptoms, some can even go asymptotic, that’s why early testing is crucial, especially when you feel you might have been exposed.
🌸🌸Prevention🌸🌸

2. Have only one sexual partner that you are sure of their status.
3. Use cond0m when having s e x with a casual se x partner.
4. The most important way of preventing this v!rus is abstinence.

Remember, early detection saves lives, you might be living with this virus without even knowing it.
Get tested t0day! Now, do you know your H!V status?
