The Executive Secretary was at the ST🛑P-AMDR Stakeholders Sensitization Meeting on the Multiple First-Line Therapy Project held in Enugu. The program was aimed at sensitizing stakeholders and community members on the upcoming research on antimalarial drug resistance in selected LGAs and communities across Enugu State.

During the meeting, she delivered a presentation titled “Improving Malaria Control in Enugu: The ENSPHCDA Experience — Leveraging Primary Health Care to Protect Our Antimalarial Arsenal.” She also encouraged stakeholders to work in synergy with the JHPIEGO Project Team to ensure the successful implementation of the study.

Yesterday, the Executive Secretary, Dr. Ifeyinwa Ani-Osheku, attended the maiden public lecture of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT). The lecture, themed “From Classroom to Communities: Bridging the Gap Between Health Science Education and Community Healthcare Delivery,” provided a platform for rich dialogue on aligning academic training with real-world health challenges.

During the discussion, the Executive Secretary shared her wealth of experience from years of leading community health initiatives, offering a practical perspective on the existing disconnect between training institutions and real-life healthcare delivery. She emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between academia and the health system to ensure that graduates are not only theoretically grounded but also adequately equipped with the skills and exposure needed to meet the healthcare needs of communities.
