THE HONOURABLE MINISTER OF EDUCATION – DR. MARUF TUNJI ALAUSA VISITS FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE, EPE
The former Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare now Honourable Minister of Education visits Federal Medical Centre, Epe.
Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa had a stopover at the Federal Medical Centre, Epe after concluding an official assignment at Epe Grammar School, Epe on Friday, 16th January, 2026. He was also joined by Honourable Tasir Olawale Raji, Honourable Member of the Federal House of Representatives, (Representing Epe Federal constituency).
He was received by the Top Management Committee (TMC) members of the hospital led by the Medical Director, Dr. Adeleke Adesola Kaka, the Head of Clinical Services, Dr. Deborah Babatunde, the Director of Administration, Mr. M.A Sh*ttu, Head of Nursing Services, Mrs Mariam Akindele, Head of Finance and Account, Mrs Betty Adesogan and a few other staff members.
The Medical Director briefed the Honourable Minister about the successes recorded at the facility and the efforts being put in place to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
The Honourable Minister later visited the Mother and Child Care Centre (MCC) to see how the facility is functioning. He was shown the newly installed 25KW renewable energy system at the facility which has greatly improved the power supply to the MCC complex, ensuring that the theatre and the delivery room have round the clock electricity supply for efficient delivery of services. The Honourable Minister had a brief chat with one of the children on admission in the paediatric ward, who shared the exoerience of satisfactory health care treatment received from the hospital.
The Honourable Minister was informed of the giant strides achieved by the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the hospital , which over the years have been able to salvage extreme preterm babies of not more than 700g at birth. The Honourable Minister then commended the Management of the hospital and charged them to double their efforts towards providing efficient and effective tertiary health care services as envisaged.
In his short remarks to the Medical Director, Hon. Wale Raji confirmed that the community is beginning to feel the positive impact of the facility.
In closing, the Medical Director on behalf of the Management and Staff of the hospital appreciates the Hon. Minister for Education and his team, Hon. Wale Raji for their support.
