Adult women with no symptoms or high-risk factors should have a comprehensive eye exam every 1–2 years, depending on age, with annual checks recommended after 65.

Women with contact lenses, glasses, diabetes, high blood pressure, or family history of eye disease require annual exams.

Routine eye exams are necessary to detect asymptomatic eye diseases early.

Two thirds of all blindness and visual impairment occurs in women. They are at a higher risk of autoimmune diseases and increased medication use.

This can contribute to vision changes like dry eye syndrome, greater likelihood of developing glaucoma, cataract and macular degeneration.

A steady, daily intake of these is more effective than intermittent consumption. Key nutrients like lutein, zeaxanthin, omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin A,C and E protect against macular degeneration, cataracts and supporting retinal health and low-light vision.

Ensure your daily diet includes a variety of these foods to maintain optimal eye health.

Myopia, commonly known as nearsightedness or short-sightedness, is a common refractive error where close objects appear clearly, but distant objects are blurry. It occurs when the eye grows too long or the cornea is too curved, focusing light in front of the retina rather than directly on it.

Key Symptoms are:
* Blurred Distant Vision
* Squinting
* Eye Strain & Headaches
* Poor Night Vision

Job-related eye strain, or Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), often manifests as dry, itchy, red eyes, blurred vision, and headaches, frequently accompanied by neck or shoulder pain.

You may notice the need to take naps by midday or experience increased difficulty focusing, particularly if your work involves prolonged screen time.

If you experience sudden, severe vision loss, flashes of light, or a “curtain-like” vision loss, seek emergency medical care, as these could be signs of serious eye conditions like retinal detachment.

Glaucoma is one of those eye conditions that many people misunderstand. A lot of people believe myths about it, and because of that they delay seeking proper care until the damage is already severe.

The scary part is that glaucoma can damage the optic nerve slowly without obvious symptoms in the early stages. Many people only realize something is wrong when their vision has already been affected. And unfortunately, once vision is lost from glaucoma, it cannot be restored.

That’s why knowledge and early eye checks are very important. Regular eye examinations can help detect glaucoma early and help protect your sight. Don’t rely on myths, advice from the internet, or things people say in passing. Your eyes deserve proper medical attention.

If you notice any changes in your vision, or if glaucoma runs in your family, please take it seriously and see an eye care professional. Early detection can make all the difference between preserving your sight and losing it.

Your vision is too important to gamble with. Get informed, get checked, and encourage someone around you to do the same.

If you regularly deal with blurry vision, headaches, dry eyes, eye fatigue, or trouble focusing during or after work, your job may be putting extra strain on your eyes.

Office settings often contribute to digital eye strain, while industrial and outdoor jobs can introduce hazards such as flying debris, chemicals, radiation, wind and UV exposure.
