Nigerian Thoracic Society The Nigerian Thoracic Society is a body composed of Chest Physicians, Pediatricians, cardiothoracic surgeons, Physiotherapists, Nurses and other profession

AIM AND OBJECTIVES

1. To encourage and stimulate basic clinical, research and investigations in the field of Thoracic medicine and surgery.

2. To improve the quality and practice of Thoracic medicine and surgery in Nigeria by promoting the professional development of those involved in the practice of and allied profession.

3. To provide a forum for the exchange and dissemination of scientific ideas and research work among its members and the medical profession.

4. To promote the advancement of training of medical doctors and allied professions related to Thoracic medicine in Nigeria.

5. To regulate the practice of Thoracic medicine by members of the Society, including the establishment and enforcement of standards of conduct, ethics, and practice for members.

6. To be opinion leaders in the field of respiratory medicine and allied disciple.

7. To set guidelines for the management of common clinical conditions with respect to respiratory diseases.

The World COPD Day is an annual International event with goals to improve awareness and care. The theme for this year is ‘Living Well with COPD: Everybody, Everywhere.’
This year, we are hosting a virtual conference featuring a comprehensive discussion by a team of experts in the causes, epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment strategy for COPD. It will also feature patient education, vaccination, rehabilitation and tips of living with COPD.
Physicians General, Medical Practitioners, Emergency Doctors, Postgraduate Doctors, Nurses, Health Educators, Caregivers and Patients Living with COPD including the General Public are invited.
