You do not need a perfect moment to start, yesterday was a good time to start. Now is another best time to start.

You do not need to buy "special" ingredients to start, you can start with the local food you have in your kitchen.

You do not need to be perfect to start, everyone has a starting point. You get better as you take action.

Make a commitment to keep at nourishing your body. Rome was not built in a day.
There are some days you may not feel like it, but keep at it.

Keep your eyes on the goal and you will get there.

'See food, Eat food'
Your mouth is always busy in a way. It can be at any time of the day.
You just can't stop yourself from grabbing that sugary treat from the table at work, or a good chunk of the ingredients find their way into your mouth as you cook.

The greatest temptation that can happen is when you are invited to a buffet or a party...
You can guess the rest of the story...

A good way to manage this habit would be to avoid free food.
Learn the art of saying NO.

Keep a food journal. List what you eat and how you were feeling when you ate it. This way, you will be able to identify what feelings trigger you to eat. And you will be able to know what to deal with.

Yes, you can!

Most times, these conditions creep silently on you when you are unaware.
Your body is not a glucometer so if your blood sugar is high, you may not know. That is why they are called silent killers.

Watch out for these symptoms:
Fatigue
Excessive thirst
Frequent urination
Frequent infections
Slow healing sores
Blurred vision
Tingling sensation in the hands and feet.

But you know what? These symptoms mostly show up after a prolonged period of hyperglycaemia (high blood sugar).

What I am saying in essence is do not wait until it happens to you. Prevent it now while you can.

The Jackfruit is a tropical fruit that can be found in Nigeria especially the rural areas.

I remember eating this fruit as a young girl. The tree was growing right beside where we lived. It was a source of shade for relaxation as well as a source of food.
I and my siblings enjoyed playing under its shade. It was also a time of fun when we harvested the ripe fruit.😋

I miss that part.

The yellow fleshy part found inside the fruit tastes like a delicious combination of pineapple and mango. It is usually eaten it fresh.
The seeds can be roasted, boiled or made into porridge for food.

The Jackfruit is very rich in fiber, antioxidants like carotenoids, flavonoids, vitamins like Vitamins A, C, Riboflavin and minerals like Magnesium, Potassium, Copper.

Though this fruit is delicious and rich in carbohydrate (40g per cup), it has a low glycemic index. So it doesn't cause a spike in the blood sugar when eaten. It also contains proteins about 3g per cup.

Other benefits of jackfruit include inflammation prevention, improved skin health, reduced risk of heart diseases.

It's another good way of adding variety to your diet.

Earlier this week we mentioned the sensual eater. Here are some tips that can help you on your health journey.

It is good to appreciate food, it is good to enjoy food and be open to new tastes and experiences.
I call you the foodie of all time.

But also remember that you should be mindful of your portion sizes. Try not to deprive yourself of anything you love. Also remember to eat slowly.

This way, you can bring some balance into your eating habits.
