Zamfara University: A bridge for non Zamfara
The importance of western education can never be quantify in our contemporary society and in any given society their level of civilization and development attributed based on the number of institutions of learning available in that particular society.
As a matter of fact in evry developed society, state, countries or Nation where there are availablity of the enough institutions of higher learning there most be sound and qualitative primary and post primary school education for their wards to be beneficiary of the institutions in their respective society.
However, coming to the Zamfara state proposed university issue, it's a welcome development to establish state own university but the remain unanswered questions has to be addressed for Zamfara state indigine to be beneficiary of the University.
Therefore, certain questions need urgent attention:
==) Are there available zamfara state indigine with 5 Credit including English and Maths,Physics and Chemistry as required by NUC?
==) What is the probability of the state indigine to field the vacancies available for Teaching and Non Teaching staff in the University ?
==) Will Zamfara indigine be opportune to field up their quoter in the various department of the proposed university?
==) Is there adquate equipments to start up with health courses as indicated in the proposed courses to be ran in the University?
In short, the whole essence of establishing state own university is to give out opportunities for the state indigine students to get admitted and study in various faculties and department in the University but in Zamfara where less than 40 percent of the students finishing Secondary schools their WAEC/NECO results for more than 6 years is recorded the worst throughout the federation, in addition a state where less than 1000 students sat for 2019 University and Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) recorded with scored 180 and above .
How do you think Zamfara indigine will benefit from the University while there is no effort made by the state government to let the indigine to have the requirements for admitting in to university.
Nevertheless , even if the University established in the state the name will only sound to be for zamfara people while I am very sure it will serve and accommodate Yoruba , Igbo and other non indigine.
