One of the most powerful conversations at MyQura Care Ignite was about caregivers and the journey they’re really on.

Not the polished version people see from the outside, but the quiet, demanding, often invisible work that happens every day. The emotional weight. The patience it takes. The strength it requires to show up again and again for someone else.

We talked about the impact of care. How it changes lives in ways that can’t always be measured. How presence, consistency, and compassion can become a lifeline for the people receiving that care.

And we named something that doesn’t get said enough: caregivers are a blessing. To families. To communities. To the people whose lives are steadied, protected, and dignified because someone chose to care.

At MyQura, this conversation matters because care is not an afterthought. It’s the work. It’s the calling. And it deserves to be seen, valued, and supported.

Dr. Oby Ezekwesili’s message at Care Ignite 2026 was clear and uncompromising: care is not a private family burden. It is public infrastructure. It is policy. It is economics. It is nation-building.

She challenged the idea that families should simply “cope.” That, she said, is not resilience. It is system failure, one that is carried mostly by women, exhausted caregivers, and informal structures never designed to last.

Affirming the theme Care by Design, she rejected improvisation, charity thinking, and fragmented responses to care. Designed care is structured, coordinated, sustained, and treated as essential to national productivity, not an afterthought.

She reminded us that care is foundational to human capital. When care systems are weak, learning suffers, productivity declines, poverty deepens, and inequality becomes generational. With aging populations, rising chronic illnesses, and a growing global shortage of care workers, investing in care is no longer optional. It is one of the highest-return investments a society can make.

Technology, she stressed, is not the strategy. Governance, standards, ethics, accountability, and sound policy must lead. Tools only work when they serve people and reduce fragmentation.

Her charge was simple and powerful: recognize care as skilled work, professionalize the workforce, and fund care with the same seriousness as national infrastructure.

Her closing reminder stayed with us all: the future of health systems, human capital, and social cohesion will be decided by whether we finally build care systems designed for reality, not wishful thinking.

Care Ignite 2026 wasn’t just an event. It was a moment of shared clarity about the future of care.

Thank you to every attendee, partner, investor, and healthcare professional who showed up with curiosity, conviction, and care. Your presence affirmed one thing: care must be intentionally designed, responsibly governed, and deeply human.

We’re grateful for the leadership and insight shared by our Special Guest of Honour, Oby Ezekwesili, and by every practitioner who grounded the conversation in real experience. The alignment was clear. Care has to work in everyday life, not just on paper.

Care Ignite was the spark. What we build next is the fire.

Care, when designed well, can transform lives, systems, and nations.

Dr. Obi Ezekwesili didn’t just speak. She framed the conversation.

At Ignite Care, she spoke about what care truly means, why it matters in Nigeria, across Africa, and on a global scale, and how intentional systems can change lives.

She also acknowledged the work being done by MyQura, recognising its growing impact in strengthening care delivery and raising standards in the healthcare space, locally and globally.

It was a moment of clarity, conviction, and shared responsibility for the future of care.
