*Celebrating Excellence: Wins Private Tertiary Healthcare Facility of the Year ( 2025)*

I am profoundly honoured to announce that *Duchess International Hospital* has been recognized as *Private Tertiary Healthcare Facility of the Year* at the *Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards (NHEA) 2025* for the *second consecutive year*! This achievement is a testament to our unwavering commitment to delivering *world-class healthcare* and *reversing the trend of medical tourism abroad*.

Our objective is clear - to provide *access to affordable, world-class healthcare* to Nigerians from all walks of life. We exist to bridge the gap in healthcare access and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities across the country.

This award is not just a recognition of our efforts, but a validation of the *core values we uphold daily - integrity, skill, commitment, and excellence*.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our *exceptional team* of clinicians, administrators, partners, and friends, with whom I have stood shoulder-to-shoulder these past 4 years. Your tireless efforts, dedication to duty, and relentless pursuit of excellence have made this recognition possible.

We dedicate this award to every patient who has trusted us with their care, the medical community who work selflessly for their patients, and every Nigerian who believes in the potential of our great nation.

As we celebrate this milestone, we remain *steadfast in our mission* to deliver *the fastest, most convenient access to the best medical expertise available anywhere in the world*.

The journey continues...

“... Our patients come here seeking hope. They want to be well. Nigerians so desperately want to believe in something. We have the opportunity to be that something.

We talk a lot about delivering access to affordable world-class healthcare. Well, that "birthright" belongs to all Nigerians!".

As we mark Employee Appreciation Day, I am reminded of the incredible talent and dedication that thrives within the walls of DUCHESS International Hospital. It’s a day to celebrate not just individuals, but the collective spirit that drives us towards our mission - to deliver affordable world-class healthcare and reverse the trend of medical tourism in Nigeria.

To our esteemed clinicians - your expertise, commitment, and compassionate care have not only saved lives but have also restored hope. Your hands wield the power to heal, and your hearts embody the essence of empathy.

To our diligent administrative staff - your seamless coordination and unwavering support form the backbone of our operations. You ensure the smooth sailing of our ship, enabling our clinicians to focus on what they do best.

Together, we all play that pivotal role in achieving our strategic objective. It is your hard work and dedication that fuel our journey towards excellence.

On this special day, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all of you. Your contributions are the cornerstone of our success, and much more importantly, the foundation on which, we can daily touch lives.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everything you do and God bless you!

Our national health system is unsustainable in its current form. As with all health systems worldwide, the existential problem that confronts healthcare in Nigeria is funding.

Achieving “Universal Health Coverage” and democratising “Access” to quality care will mean leveraging the combined resources of private and public sector healthcare.

I will be speaking at the Biennial Conference of the APHPN (Lagos Chapter) today, on the theme - “Accelerating Universal Health Coverage: Building Resilient Health Systems”.

The private sector is transforming healthcare in Nigeria by fostering innovation and expanding overall access to care.

Its agility and innovation make it well-positioned to respond to the rapidly changing needs of patients, carers and communities. By working closely with the public sector, we can create a healthier and more equitable society for all Nigerians.
