AS RADIOGRAPHERS DECIDE
I've come to realise why we're yet to get it right, even as a people. Come to think of it as professionals on the basis of our cerebral prowess, we should be the frontiers to set the pace to groundbreaking revolutions. I am convinced everyone seeing this picture will have it pricking an aspect in their mind and that's conscience and that's the true essence of living! Right now we have 3 ARN Presidential aspirants, and just one will emerge victorious to take us through another four years ride to either innovations or stagnancy. It is our decision that will either bring us the former or the later. But to set the record straight I will like to remind us that a leader who is approachae,close to us, known to us, has the profession at heart and displays it and ready to stand for everyone of us, with an eagle eye view of professionals in other climes is better for us. In the last six years, I've never seen anyone ready to stand up for Radiography like DICES,a vote for him is vote for progress.
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE?
At a time when we had a Bill to defend in the senate and it was an impromptu call to Radiographers to quickly submit a stand and defend the Bill against Medical Physicists. I remember *DICES* was at the forefront and everyone who was able to grace that occasion said Chief *MUSA YUSUF DAMBELE* was a lion in that room. The Senate went with applaud for Musa Dambele's speech and collected his number. He delivered a moving speech. Not that alone, some others as well that are past.
Now I will start referring to him as *DICES* the game changer. They say he who demands to sew cloth for one should be checked for what he wears. He is an assistant Director in university College Hospital Ibadan, ask any resident doctors who know UCH very well, they will tell you UCH is a battle ground and any rule made there stands in every Hospital. DICES has influenced his department and broken some jinx and making it easy for some of the people around him to gain some freedom there in.
This is different from some of seniors who cannot defend their juniors or face oppression in the name of the profession, and if we have *DICES* as the headship of this association, believe me our glory will be redeemed by inclusion of everyone in his agenda to restore the dignity of this association which will culminate into progress for the profession.
Do you need results? Then make *DICES* a leader. In 2016 in the Kano conference, I saw some BUK students he supervised who had chosen topics in Nuclear Medicine and those he didn't supervise. The students presented projects that are so unique and outstanding and 98% of the people on the seat had never witnessed some of the presentations which had *DICES'* hands in them. Common, this is highly cerebral and you could feel it in the inspiration and motivation resonating in this young minds, what are we leading if we can't influence and motivate others! (Leadership and management in Health: University of Washington). In that conference I recalled only a Radiographer who practices in the United states was in the know of the few presentations. This is DICES doing what he knows how to do best!
Let me take you on a ride through professional affiliation, meeting, travels and association with professional quintessence. DICES is not just home based, he is well associated and known in ISRRT , PACORI and so many countries. He doesn't just go there to meet with fellow Radiographers, trust him always he delivers and gives us a face with his powerful presentations and evidence-based submissions.
The best part of DICES aside all these cerebral distinctions and professional charisma, he has a good human relationship and knows how to manage every individual. Please if you have not met him, I think you should try to. He would definitely make you feel proud as a professional and you will be glad. He gives you that listening here and before you know it, you have developed a rapport with him. That's a leader. But in the face of that, even as he cushions and Pampers his colleagues, he is a big threat to our collective professional enemies who will want to deface this beautiful profession of Radiography.
He is exceptionally humble and radiant and with all these qualities, some would be taken aback on how he joggles between all of them, I will borrow a saying from a scholar " education should make you, easy to govern and difficult to enslave" and the true essence of living is to live humbly. DAMBELE is a humble man!
It is even a fact that the name DICES has more resounding fame than that of any of the two aspirants, this is not a coincidental bias, but the truth to the content of *DICES- CAPABILITY, PROACTIVENESS, HUMILITY, INCLUSION* ....!
If there is anyone here who would go for that conference and vote not DICES , will you reconsider your stance and vote for DAMBELE instead!
