Yesterday was April 25th which usually marks World Malaria Day globally. Let's learn something about MALARIA today.
The World Health Organization introduced World Malaria Day in May 2007 as a part of their initiative to raise awareness of malaria, worldwide.
Malaria has been a serious concern for over 100 years and if statistics are to be believed, around 2,000,000 people become its victims every year.
Malaria is a protozoal disease, which is associated with high grade fever and is often transmitted by female Anopheline mosquito bites. 😑
The mosquito transports the parasite from one infected human to another. These parasites then enter the blood stream and infect the red blood cells.
The main symptoms of malaria are fever, chills, headache, nausea and vomiting, etc.
MALARIA is PREVENTABLE and ACHIEVABLE through PROPER DIET.
There is no specific diet for malaria but adequate nutrition is the key for improvement. A good diet should focus on strengthening the patient’s immune system without affecting the liver, kidney and digestive system. ✅
It is advised to eat frequently in small quantity that helps to tolerate the food.😋
FOOD & FRUITS NEEDED 🍓🍒🍍🍐🍇
1. Fluids - Load up on fluids
Liberal fluid intake is desired to compensate for the fluid losses from the body. A daily fluid intake of 3 to 4 liters is recommended.
It is important to consume foods that provide instant energy such as glucose water, sugarcane juice, fruits juice, coconut water, sorbet (sugar, salt and lemon with water), etc.
This helps with the increased fever and appetite in treating malaria. 💪
