Simple guides with detailed planning often yields unexpected yet expected results. Unexpected because, you would never have thought that it will work. Expected because there was proper planning and accountability. Rather than break the bank and yet not get expected results. Do the needful by asking me how

Hello, I'm back! so where was I on this letter. Yes.... PLANNING.
3. 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭. The sterling or the dollar are not your friend right now and it's also useless with the systems they exist in. It will cost you more to get it and you will find that it flies away quickly too when you get it. £100 is not big money in England. It can be eaten at a meal of 4 people or even two in less than 45 mins. In Nigeria, you will not eat food of £100 on a normal day! hence why you need to drop your Naira mindset quickly.
As such, plan well in advance. If you are lucky to have friends who live in the country, city or town you want to move to, ask them honest and direct questions.
How much is rent? how much is food? how much is a new or 2nd hand car? how much does it cost to live on a monthly basis? Sit with your notepad and do your math! Can you survive without a job yet for 5 months alone as the father or mother without your family and with your family on your savings being converted from Naira?
Don't be caught out for not asking the right questions and planning ahead.
4. Following from number 3, if you have a visa that allows all of your family to relocate... DONT! I repeat! DONT all come at the same time! I know it's hard but it's wiser!
If you have blessed with more than two children, remember that you will need at least a two bed house. There's no way to cheat things. Social services will be involved with your children (in England at least) as soon as you arrive and register them in any kind of school. They will monitor their living conditions regularly more so if their aproko teachers sense anything and trust me, their antennas are good at not minding their business.
Also, unlike Lagos where you're coming from, rent is not paid annually. It is remitted monthly in most 1st world countries. The rental process for new Nigerian immigrants is also frustrating (thanks in no part to those who have misbehaved in the past and painted all prospective Nigerians bad). As such, it's easier to get a one bed flat (or even a house share - something most Nigerians are unfamiliar with) for yourself while you settle in, build up your savings, save for the first month rent for a 2 bed house/flat or more depending on your family's size and don't forget that you will require a security deposit which is usually another month in advance (which you can't touch until your leave the property in the future).
So, if rent for your 2 bed house is (for example) £1000 per calendar month, you will probably need at least another £1000 in addition to that first month's rent i.e £2,000 to get your family started. Now imagine the cost of relocation airfare and to cough out another £2000 on arrival (and that's assuming you're lucky to have a sensible agent who doesn't stress your life out). It's not easy on most Nigerians coming from Naira to pounds and this is just a guesstimate. It usually costs more plus furnishing the house. Your hosts who allow you to stay over whilst settling in will soon start getting fidgety because you can't find an affordable 3 bed house for your family of 5 or 6. Even if you were renting a short let accommodation, the clock is not your friend either plus living costs!
So, waiting a few more months before your family joins you will not kill you. It will help you all in the end.
If you also have children younger than 5 years old, be aware that nurseries exist to punish you for having s*x and having children. Better still if you have more than one child in nursery age, you can be rest assured that at least £800 might be going to nursery cost per child.
And when your family joins you, start small. Do you really need a 52 inch TV? are you training to be a newscaster? Do you really need to buy all the same electronics you had in Lagos under 3 months? The problem is you will see every vice and desire you have staring at you everywhere you turn and if you're not careful, the temptation to keep buying will be endless. Is it not the same countries where there's always sale deals going on or something else? We just barely finished Easter, Fathers Day is en route and there's the next like clockwork. So, weigh what is important for your family and be wise about spending. Don't also forget that kids grow quickly! There's no point to buying expensive clothes for them that will break your back. They will outgrow it faster than you can imagine. If someone around offers you pass down clothes for your kids, again, don't let your pride get in the way. Some of those clothes might have not been worn yet before their own kids outgrew them and they understand you're new to the country, hence why they are offering. Take all the help you can and swallow your pride.
5. 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. If you know some folks living in that country, request for 30 mins of their time and ask them for advice! Are you a doctor? then run your medical plans past an established doctor in your future country. Show them the contract you're being offered. Listen to their counsel without your ego coming to play. Run their feedback past another doctor that you know and weigh their thoughts. In the multitude of good counsel there is safety and the people you also first meet when you arrive in a new country or before you arrive can make or marr you for good.
Folks who have walked this road ahead of you (the good ones at least) will always know something you don't know or someone who might know something that may make life easier for you.
Nigerians have an attitude issue! You don't ask for advice as though the person in England or Atlanta will block your blessing. I know witches and wizards exist where you're coming from but I'm way too busy in New York to use my witching mirror to look at your destiny. It's foolishness coding for those who can help you before you even start out. In turn, you uproot your life on the first available job offer without negotiating just because you think £2000 salary is a lot (as you're thinking in Naira). You will be amazed how little £2000 is especially for an upstart and you might also be amazed how you might have been able to negotiate for more had you ran your plans by someone else who already understood the same system you're about to get into.
6. Again, still on 5. It's not maintaining the status quo also to arrive and start to struggle without asking for help. Fine! You made the mistake of not asking before arriving but now you are here and you can see it's not measuring up to what you planned in ignorance.

Hello Friends, or citizens of the United African republic , I want to rewrite a letter I read to you before telling you about my great idea. It was written by Oluwafemi-Ben Aboluwarin.

I discovered that many people (not just Nigerians) do not read and this is where our first errors come from when it comes to major decisions like relocation.

I know it has been hard...

I know things have not been going well...

I know you think anywhere but here is better but before you just jump at any opportunity, Read my letter;

Dear Nigerian planning to exit Nigeria sooner than later.
I know the country is hard for most people in the middle class right now or for those who run businesses and I can understand your frustrations which have led to your desire to exit the country as soon as possible.
I understand that 'japa' is your plan B and you've done all in your power to get yourself sorted as soon as possible. Thankfully, a way has opened and you're taking it.
I also understand that you may have your sights on Canada, the UK or the USA and maybe some other country where things will work for your future aspirations. To this, I congratulate you for doing everything to secure a work visa.

As I am not talking to those who plan to escape illegally, can I give some thoughts and advice as someone who has lived abroad as a Nigerian immigrant for almost 20 years?

1. 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐲. You will assume this is common sense but you will be amazed how, of all things to overlook, this is one thing people don't pay attention to at all especially before leaving Nigeria permanently. I will come back to it from time to time.
The plan is to get abroad but when you arrive there, what next? I find that a lot of people don't think beyond getting on a plane nor answer this question introspectively.
What kind of work do you want to do? what about your spouse? what kind of skills do you both need to acquire to be able to do this job? what town or city do you want to live in in this new country? have you researched all you can about it? What kind of schools do you want your children to go to? Do you know if education is free or will it cost you an arm and leg? How easy is it to open a bank account? How does money work in this country? What investments should I be looking at?
Who do you even know in that country? E.g not everyone in the UK lives in London! Don't make assumptions! York for example is quite far from London and is very Caucasian affluent. If you know someone that lives in York and you decide to move to York as your point of first entry, you might find that there's not much "Nigerianess" going on there and you will be shocked as to how expensive things are. This might be a huge blow to your plans because you might just struggle from day one! So, research and find somewhere that might feel a little familiar and easier to start out in before may be setting your sights on the big boy areas of the country.

Comment down below if this resonates with you in any way(about to travel... Planning to.... Thinking about it), or send a direct message to avoid village people 😊😊😊

SOURCING FOR THE BEST PRODUCTS WITH THE BEST DEALS.
What is product sourcing?
Product sourcing is the process of finding good quality products to sell from reputable suppliers at good prices. Within that process, there are a number of different stages, such as researching the chosen product, calculating the price and cost of the product, and then negotiating with suppliers in order to achieve the best deal. Ultimately, the goal of product sourcing is to locate the best products, from good suppliers, at prices reasonable enough that they allow for a distinct profit margin.
There’s never been a better time to be an online seller. Global e-commerce sales are projected to top $6.54 trillion by 2023, according to Statistica. No matter what channel your business started out selling on, a multi-channel strategy is key to capitalize on today’s global e-commerce growth.
After all, the more places you sell, the more buyers you reach. But it’s not enough to simply be present on multiple platforms—your products need to resonate with consumers, too. That’s why smart research and product sourcing will be critical to your future success.4 product sourcing strategies to take note of
If a product sourcing agent isn’t available to you, or unnecessary for your e-commerce journey, then there are ways to learn and undertake product sourcing strategies yourself.

1. Work with a wholesaler
If a good relationship can be developed with a reputable wholesaler, there is a world of opportunity waiting in the form of being able to sell unlimited, unique products without the cost of needing to manufacture them yourself.
Additionally, many wholesalers will only produce products they know are guaranteed to sell well because of the huge quantities they make at any one time - so you already know there is an established need or market for your product. However, due to the nature of wholesalers, products will need to be bought in bulk which means bigger initial costs upfront, as well as inviting potential undercutting competition from other sellers procuring products from the same wholesaler.
2. Work with a manufacturer
Establishing direct working relationships with manufacturer’s cuts out any potential middlemen as you are shipping the product to yourself with no additional incurring fees. Whilst you will be able to attain products at lower prices than working with wholesalers, you will still need to buy in bulk because of the minimum order quantities manufacturers work to which could prove too expensive for a starter business with a smaller budget.
3. Try handmade products
A recurring trend, the appetite for artisan, handmade products is growing year on year as buyers aim for originality and uniqueness in their products or furnishings. A majority of the time, most sellers will be small independent businesses, so there is no need to pay bulk fees and the margin for competition is lower as the products sourced are likely to be completely unique. However, inventory could become a problem if the demand out surges the rate the seller can produce, or if the seller is unable to continue manufacturing the products.
4. Visit a trade show
Trade shows, exhibitions, and conferences can not only be great places to conduct market research, but also identify and establish relationships with manufacturers, wholesalers and other independent retailers often selling unique products that are not yet common market knowledge.
