SPIDER'S WIT.

I recalled as a child that my mom had this long palm trunk upon which a small size broom was nicely attached.
It was a nice art craft product of Northern Nigeria. It was used as cob-web removal.

As a child, then, I usually thought about the mission of these tiny creatures, which caused these messes every now and later. Not until a few years later, when I started paying attention to what this was all about.

I started seeing insects and flies hanging within the web as preys for the spiders to enjoy.
Then, it dawned on me that what I was referring to as a mess is another creature's strategy of getting its needs met.

Then, when I started watching the "Nat Geo Wild" channel, then I was exposed to diverse animals and insects wits of survival.
The focal point of this particular write-up is Spider's wits.

As briefly explained above, spiders are carnivorous hunters in the class of the Lions & other flesh eaters. Spiders equally feast on flesh of the likes of houseflies and other insects.
But their uniqueness of hunting is what is worthy of admiration.

Spiders are keen observers of their territory in order to discover the lodging or playing arena of flies and insects. After this survey, the spider comes around to set up its hunting webs at the strategic places within that arena.
They're so versed in their skills that it becomes impossible for any flies that peradventure dabbled into this web in the cause of flying hardly escaped.

Besides the strategy of a web. Spiders are patience, focused & proactive hunter peradventure it came one-on-one in contact with its prospective prey. I have observed this act severally being an "Experiential Training 1" I usually pay attention to my environment for learning.

Now, let's juxtaposed spiders wit with your personal goal accomplishment.

To start with, there's something unique about you. This uniqueness was naturally wired into you as your special advantage.

Your uniqueness is your spiders wit. It's your web of hunting, and it's meant to aid your needs being met.

Have you observed that every creature has a unique special advantage?

Eagles have her dexterity of mastering storms while other birds take cover during storms, Eagles soars.
Lions are dexterous in strength and speed.
As little as Ants are, they're so versed in understanding time & season.
Spiders are skilled in strategic living.

Instead of sneaking around every nook and crannies, spiders adopted the principle of "Investment and Dividend."
A spider will invest its advantage of making the web in order to have preys as a dividend.

The question then is, what are you doing with your special & unique advantage?

This could be your stunning beauty.
Your special intelligence in a specific area.
It could be your natural strength.
Your singing or speaking dexterity is your advantage.

Instead of setting up yourself for a struggling life or a low comfort zone, choose to be strategic with your life by building your life around your strength.

Adopt a Spider's wits by investing in your strength; go for training, learn a new skill, make plans for R&D, buy courses & programs to cultivate your strength.

Then, like a spider, you'll never struggle to have your needs met again.

SWOT analyze your abilities to discover your
Strengths
Weaknesses
Opportunities
Threats.

If the larger proportion of your strength tends towards Technical, then you may not excel as a banker irrespective of the number of years you’ve been in service. Or else,you switch to Fintech.

If your strength lies with creativity, it may be the reason you're struggling as an employee.
Switching to a fashion designer may be a Spider's wit to end your strugglings.

It doesn't matter how long you've gone on a wrong route. It'll never get you to your destination except you turn back.
Stop following the masses in going after what is popular and generally acceptable instead of your unique advantage.

It's time to adopt a Spider's wit, be strategic with your life, business, or career by focusing & building up your strength.

Then, success becomes a cinch, just like flies caught by a spider web.

SEASONS ARE TRANSIENT

"All the days of the earth, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, night and day,shall not cease." Says Moses.

For the past three months, the temperature rate of Lagos state had been between 32° and 34° celsius.
Therefore, one of the topmost desires of Lagosians is for the rain to fall. Success doesn't respond to wishes, though, but principles.

Therefore, the wishes of the majority couldn't bring the rain until the weather was fully saturated and dropped as rain yesterday, 21st of April, 2024.
And you know what, the temperature dropped to 30° as the average and 23° celsius as the lower temperature.

Now, this instance corroborates this subject of discussion that seasons are transient. As such, nothing is permanent because with every transient season comes a change.
For instance, with dry season comes heat and high temperatures, while the rainy season is synonymous with cold and lower temperatures.

Equally, if we are to go philosophically, the journey of life between birth and death is likewise segmented in seasons.
Now, im not even talking about biological segmentation of childhood, adolescent, young, and old age.

Instead, Im taking about your life's experiences.

A few months ago, one of the LIFESKUL LETTERS articles was themed; LIFE & HER INTRICACIES. In that article, I took time to analyse diverse life situations and circumstances; the good, the bad & the ugly. The conclusion was that all of these experiences culminated into what life is all about. Not to believe such is to be naive. This reminds me of a true life story about a woman who, towards the end of last year 2023, lost her husband. Again, just a few weeks ago, she was involved in a ghastly motor accident.

To such a woman, it is her season of turbulence and crisis.
This can be likened literally to the season of heat and dry season. You see, she is having it so hard to bear.

Mind you, seasons are transient. Such an era of her life isn't going to be permanent. It is just a matter of time. A new season shall roll in, and she'll forget all of her sorrows.
All she needs is a strong will and fortitude of heart to hold on until this era is over.

A new season will soon be here for her, when her children will be getting married and probably taking her abroad to nurse her grandchildren.

Think about Lawrence.

Lawrence lost her job, and the little savings he had to start up his desired business were rendered useless due to the high inflation rate of the economy. Now, all were lost to his daily upkeep.
But just a few months later, a new season came by for Lawrence when he coincidentally met his old schoolmate at an occasion.

After exchanging pleasantries, he dropped his card with him, and this fellow happened to be a branch manager of one of the topmost banks of the land. Lawrence went to his office on the appointed day. After much deliberation, he helped Lawrence to secure a loan sufficient to kickstart his desired business.

As of today, not only was Lawrence financially stable, but he is also an employer of others.
A new season just replaced his era of turbulence after much endurance, determination, and strong will not to give up on life.

So friend, what era or season of life are you into?
Financially stable or financial crisis?
Are you jobless or not gainfully employed?

Is yours a relationship turbulent?
Do you just suffer divorce?
A lost of job or business?
Are you currently having a health challenge?

Here is good news to hold on to.
They're all seasonal, and seasons are transient.
Seasons are not permanent. Seasons are subjected to change.

I therefore urge you to be of strong will.
Be determined, tenacious, and stay focused on what you actually want out of life.

One of numerous king Solomon proverbs says, "The will to live can get you through sickness, but no one can live with a broken Spirit."

This is to inform you about the place of strongwill and determination during life's crisis.

So don't be a sissy during the season of life storm. If you'll keep on sailing irrespective of the degree of the storm, you'll soon get to a safe haven.

Seasons are temporal, transient, and chargeable.

Being an employee today does not mean you won't own your business tomorrow if that is your aspiration.
The public figure of today was nobody yesterday.
So keep up with your dreams, career, and goals.

Your season of blissfulness will soon be here.
Just keep on and keeping on.

Never give up, keep pressing, stay focused, and be of strong will. These are the tenets that'll see you through your season of crisis. Until the new season is dawn.

WHEN A BLIND LEADS A BLIND
The theme of this week's blog was coined out of one of the numerous public seminars of Christ.

So, this article has its backdrops from that perspective. The focal point is to give you a nudge to cross-examine the quality of your relationships and to audit the influence of your environment on you and your life's results so far.

Literally, the word blind connotes someone who is visually impaired. But as contextually used within this write-up, it talks about being deficient.

Being deficient here talked about not being thoroughly sufficient or lagging behind in some potential & qualities.

Henry Ward Beecher said, "Everyone has influence for good or bad, upon others."

Therefore, the proverbial theme of this article, "When a blind leads a blind," simply connotes your association with those who are deficient in ability to aids or supprts your aspiration; career, or business success, financial independent etc, accomplishment.

Success accomplishment in any of life's spheres responds to principles, not your emotions.
Here is a simple analogy to buttress what I meant.

The degree of heat being experienced in Lagos for the past two months is so unbearable to many folks. (Equally, no thanks to the PHCN people)
Now, the point I am passing across is that the desire of most Lagosians now above some other things is for the rain to fall.

Twice last week, I heard a radio station playing the most famous Majek Fashek track; SEND DOWN THE RAIN. 😀( Letting you know say the water of the heat don dey pass garri.)

Now, irrespective of the people's wish for rain to fall, it hasn't fallen. But why, you may want to ask?
It is simply because success has a pattern. So, it never responds to emotions or feelings.

If my secondary school geography memory serves me well, there's something called "Water Circle.""
This is the process of rain 🌧 formation. This is the process whereby the sun evaporates the water on the earth surface, the river and the sea in order to saturate the cloud aftermath of which resorted into rainfall.

This same principle was verified by the theologians, " If the cloud be full of rain, they empty themselves."

All these corroborate the fact that success has a pattern.

When a blind leads a blind unveiled bane of your emotional attachment to the wrong associates. As much as it is morally and religiously acceptable to help or have compassion on the poor, it could likewise sink you into the miry clay of perpetual failure. So, don't be a blind who is leading another blinds.

Assuming you're just having a career or business spotlight rather than joining yourself to your industry professional elites in order to be exposed to some rare available insights that make the top 10 percentage of your industry, you chose to join the loafers and become their local champion.

So intead of making financial advancement from a rob off from those better than you. Instead, you're having financial setback courtesy of your associates of blinds, you chose to lead.

Here's a voice of wisdom nudging you to take steps backwards before you'll all end up in a ditch.

There's no prediction to the effects of your associates on you and your life's results. Little wonder the apostle Paul said, "Bad company corrupts good manners."
A good example of influence of your association was Moses' experience after keeping 40 days of company with God in the course of receiving the ten commandments.

By the time he came down from the mountain, the Israelis couldn't steadily look at his face because it radiates the attributes of who he had spent enormous time with. Though Moses never felt any difference but the difference stealthily occurred.

Equally, there's no telling the effects of your associates on you because, "He who walk with the wise shall be wise but the companion of fools shall be punish."

So friend, don't be a novice about the power and effects of association.
If your intention is to get to the peak of your career, then that could only happen by keeping company with those going on the same path.

Don't be a startup banker whose best friend is an entertainer because you might end up losing your career earlier.
Him being a natural spender, you might end up being a surety for a facility that he may not be able to refund.

If you're aiming at having marital bliss, then your advisers can't be a single or divorcee.
If you're aiming for financial independent, then, you can't afford to keep association of the broke who are deficient in the knowledge of getting rich. Rather, make financial books, programs and a mentee of those who already accomplished your aspirations.

Be aware, when a blind leads a blind, they'll both end up in a ditch.
