MEDICS ON DUTY OUTREACH — HEALTHCARE THAT GOES BEYOND THE HOSPITAL

At Medics on Duty, we believe healthcare shouldn’t stop at hospital walls. That’s why community outreach is a core part of what we do bringing quality medical care directly to the people who need it most.

Our outreaches are well-structured, medically supervised, and impact-driven, designed to improve health outcomes while creating awareness and access.

Here’s how we do our outreaches:

🩺 Free Medical Screenings
We provide essential health checks including blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI, eye checks, and basic consultations helping people detect health issues early.

👩🏽‍⚕️ On-Ground Doctors & Nurses
Our outreaches are staffed by licensed doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals who offer proper assessments, medical advice, and referrals when necessary.

📚 Health Education & Awareness
We educate communities on preventable diseases, healthy lifestyle choices, hygiene practices, and early warning signs of common health conditions.

🤝 Partnership-Driven Impact
We collaborate with schools, churches, companies, NGOs, and community leaders to deliver targeted and sustainable health interventions.

💊 Medical Supplies & Referrals
Where needed, we provide basic medications, first aid items, and referrals to partner hospitals for further care.

🌍 Reaching the Underserved
Our focus is on communities with limited access to healthcare ensuring no one is left behind.

How to Stay Healthy During Harmattan Season

Harmattan is officially here dry air, dusty wind, cracked lips, irritated eyes, and unexpected coughs.
This season might feel uncomfortable, but staying healthy is completely achievable with the right habits.

Here’s a simple, practical guide to protect yourself and your family during harmattan:

• Stay Hydrated

Harmattan dries out the body quickly.
Drink 2–3 liters of water daily to keep your skin, throat, and airways moisturized. Dehydration happens faster this season, so be intentional.

• Moisturize Your Skin & Lips

The cold, dry breeze can cause cracks and irritation.
Use:
• Shea butter or thick body creams
• Petroleum jelly for hands and feet
• Lip balm (preferably with SPF)
These help you maintain soft, healthy skin all through the season.

• Reduce Dust Exposure

Dust is at its peak during harmattan and can trigger cough, sneezing, allergies, and respiratory infections.
• Keep your environment clean
• Close windows when dust levels rise
• Clean fans and surfaces regularly
• Wear a face mask if you’ll be outdoors for long

• Boost Your Immune System

Harmattan season increases the risk of flu, catarrh, and throat infections.
Strengthen your immunity with:
• Vitamin C
• Fruits like oranges, pineapple & watermelon
• Ginger and garlic
• Adequate sleep and reduced stress

• Protect Your Airways

If you have asthma or respiratory sensitivities, be extra careful.
• Carry your inhaler
• Do steam inhalation when congested
• Avoid dusty environments
• Keep your room warm at night

• Stay Warm

Mornings and nights are colder during harmattan.
Wear light sweaters, socks, scarves, and keep babies & elderly ones well-covered.

• Care for Your Eyes

Dust and dryness can irritate the eyes.
Use protective glasses outdoors and lubricating eye drops if your eyes feel dry or scratchy.

✨ Stay Healthy This Harmattan

Don’t forget prevention is better than cure.
Take care of yourself, stay warm, hydrate deeply, and protect your lungs and skin.

If you need First Aid Kits, Vitamin C packs, or harmattan-safe health bundles, send us a DM to order.
Stay safe this season
