Child Survival & Development Organization of Nigeria CSDON is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting the well-being and security of the Nigerian nay African mother and child.

Established in 2002, Child Survival and Development Organisation of Nigeria is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation that serves as a rallying point for promoting the well-being of the Nigerian nay African Mother and Child by supporting maternal and child healthcare initiatives in the country. Working with everyone who shares our aspirations and vision, we are tireless and relentless in giving hope to and uplifting the lives of the challenged Nigerian nay African Mother and child – one at a time. The Child and Maternal Healthcare initiative of the organisation is driven primarily through its hospital - Calabar Women & Children Hospital (CWCH). The Hospital also serves as a unique clinical and corporate platform through which CSDON executes most of her other projects. WHERE WE WORK
While we are presently, largely focused on Africa’s largest nation - Nigeria, our long term plan is to be involved in providing succor to the mother and child in need across the continent of Africa. WHAT WE DO
We lead our lives in the pursuit of a happy and healthy mother and child as the foundation of a healthy and happy world. OBJECTIVES

Organizing Medicaid programs (i.e. FREE medical missions, provision of essential staff training, donations of critical medical items or equipment) these geared towards meeting the healthcare needs of mothers and children

OUR FOCUS

Medicare – we render healthcare services whether via medical missions or through our flagship medical institution – the Calabar Women and Children Hospital located in Cross River State where advanced maternal, Newborn and child healthcare is rendered. Medicaid – we are presently collaborating with 5 Teaching Hospitals in Nigeria especially as it concerns peadiatric oncology care. In these institutions we support staff training, research and procurement of high-end laboratory equipment. We have established and are building Paediatric Oncology Medicare Support Funds (POMSuF) in these centers. Organizing periodic, FREE regional or zonal medical missions allows us to bring much needed medicare to people who are often too poor to access even the most basic healthcare. During these missions we provide preventive, and therapeutic Medicare (eyecare and surgeries, general and other specialist surgeries) among others. A key feature of CSDON medical missions is organizing training for local healthcare providers on Neonatal Resuscitation, STABLE program and training of traditional birth attendants (TBAs) on safe birthing practices among others. Advocacy – our advocacy and awareness campaigns cover oncology healthcare, HIV & AIDS, Child and women's rights protection, education of the child and the woman.
