THE REBELS

BIBLE TEXT: Psalms 68: 6

Ps.68.6 God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But for rebels, there is only famine and distress. (NLT)

Many singles get so desperate that they will settle for anyone when they believe time is no longer on their side. They tend to forget God's warnings when it comes to marriage, and decide to abolish divine arrangement.

Settling for an unbeliever, someone that is already married, defiling yourself, or venturing into sin to make someone marry you will amount to rebellion against God.

The Bible made us to understand that God sets the lonely in families, your loving father understands your desire to be married because He created that desire, and He's working behind the scene to settle you gloriously.

Do not be a rebel, the dry land is reserved for rebels and it's a place of pain, agony, famine, and regret. It is better to wait long than to marry wrong.

Luke.6.49 But anyone who listens and doesn't obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will crumble into a heap of ruins." (NLT)

THE FEAR OF GOD

BIBLE TEXT: Proverbs 14: 27-28

Prov.14.26 Those who fear the LORD are secure; he will be a place of refuge for their children. (NLT)

Prov.14.27 Fear of the LORD is a life-giving fountain; it offers escape from the snares of death. (NLT)

One of the things the fear of God will do for you is that it will make you flee from sin. So many people that escaped from the traps of temptation were able to do so because they feared God.

Sin is first a trespass against God's commandments. When you see sin as an offense against God, and you fear Him, living a righteous life will not be hard for you.

Joseph's reply to Potiphar's wife was "How can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?"

The love you have for God, and the fear of God will keep you away from sin.

MEMORY VERSE
2Cor.7.1 Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete purity because we fear God. (NLT)

DECLARATION

FORCED MARRIAGES

BIBLE TEXT: Numbers 36: 1-7

Num.36.5 So Moses gave the Israelites this command from the LORD: "The men of the tribe of Joseph are right. (NLT)

Num.36.6 This is what the LORD commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad: Let them marry anyone they like, as long as it is within their own ancestral tribe. (NLT)

The rate of forced marriages in the 21st century is becoming alarming. So many people are getting married out of their will, and this is not right.

Single sisters are being forced into marriage by their own parents, pastors, mentors, and even suitors against their will. So many ignorant brothers have led unhappy brides down the aisle with "God said you are my wife, and rejecting me is disobeying God" threat.

There is no where in the Bible where God says people should be married against their will. Even after seeing visions, revelations, etc the decision to get married should be a willing one, not done under compulsion.

Lack of genuine love and affection have led to the break down of several marriages, so many people are getting separated/divorced because they could not love who they married.

Do not force or pressure anyone to marry you; Sisters should desist from tying brothers down with arranged pregnancy, and brothers should never use force or monetary pressure to force a sister's hand because they want her.

Marriage needs genuine love and affection to thrive.

Gen.24.58 So they called Rebekah. "Are you willing to go with this man?" they asked her. And she replied, "Yes, I will go." (NLT)

DECLARATION

NIGHT & MORNING

BIBLE TEXT: Psalms 30: 4-5

Ps.30.4 All you saints! Sing your hearts out to GOD! Thank him to his face! (MSB)

Ps.30.5 He gets angry once in a while, but across a lifetime there is only love. The nights of crying your eyes out give way to days of laughter. (MSB)

Every season of life has daytime and nighttime. The night time is the time of darkness, gloom, tears, depression, questions, and longing. While the day time represents time of answers, laughter, light, fulfilled expectations, and happiness.

It is normal to have questions while going through your nighttime and want answers from God, your pain can cloud your judgement if you allow it. However, your understanding that the season of darkness or tears is temporal will give you hope. There is going to be daytime, where there is going to be a burst of daylight that brings relief.

God has not forgotten you, and your nighttime will soon pass. If you can hold on to your faith you will celebrate your daytime soon.

SHEPHERDS OF DESTRUCTION

BIBLE TEXT: Jer. 23: 1-6

Jer.23.1 "I will send disaster upon the leaders of my people--the shepherds of my sheep--for they have destroyed and scattered the very ones they were expected to care for," says the LORD. (NLT)

Jer.23.2 This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says to these shepherds: "Instead of leading my flock to safety, you have deserted them and driven them to destruction. Now I will pour out judgment on you for the evil you have done to them. (NLT)

Jer.23.4 Then I will appoint responsible shepherds to care for them, and they will never be afraid again. Not a single one of them will be lost or missing," says the LORD. (NLT)

I have been privileged to counsel several singles that have been ravaged, taken advantage of, and destroyed by shepherds they call "Fathers" or "Daddy".

This spiritual in**st and abuse of Fatherhood has become rampant, this act is mostly practiced by shepherds of destruction who chose to destroy instead of caring for God's sheep.

God's judgement is coming on shepherds of destruction, but before their exposure, God's tender sheep must be protected.

As a young single brother/sister seeking to live a righteous life and waiting for a glorified future, you have to flee from every appearance of evil. No spiritual shepherd has the right to suggest or have carnal knowledge of you, this is an abnormality and deviation from the commandment of God.

You have to choose your spiritual mentors and shepherds prayerfully with the help of the Holy Spirit. Studying the word of God diligently will reveal the mind of God to you, and help you avoid shepherds behaving contrarily to God's will.

Beware of seeking sudden miracle and deliverances, all these are your inheritance in God if you live a holy and righteous life before God .

God will judge shepherds of destruction, but God's children should be careful not to fall into their traps, many of them are destiny hunters and destroyers.

Jer.10.21 For the shepherds have become dull-hearted, And have not sought the LORD; Therefore they shall not prosper, And all their flocks shall be scattered. (NKJV)

DECLARATION
I'm a son/daughter of God Most High, and I love my Father with all my heart. I understand that I must protect my destiny, so I choose my spiritual shepherds prayerfully. I'm lead by the Holy Spirit Hallelujah.

IDLE CHRISTIANS

BIBLE TEXT: 2 Thess. 3: 6-8

2Thess.3.6 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we give you this command with the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ: Stay away from any Christian who lives in idleness and doesn't follow the tradition of hard work we gave you. (NLT)

2Thess.3.7 For you know that you ought to follow our example. We were never lazy when we were with you. (NLT)

2Thess.3.8 We never accepted food from anyone without paying for it. We worked hard day and night so that we would not be a burden to any of you. (NLT)

There is a Category of Christians known as Idle Christians, and the Bible admonishs that we stay away from them. Idle Christians are unproductive and unfruitful.

Idle Christians are content to live a mediocre life, so, they would rather gossip than work. They believe all rich people are ritualists, and are content to be poor. Poverty to them makes them heavenly candidates.

Idle Christians love to beg, because they believe their blessings will come in form of free favours from others. They would rather drink anointing oil and go from house to house recounting sorry tales to draw pity.

Idle Christians do not plan for the future, they believe Faith means leaving everything to God while they go to sleep. They believe they will receive sudden favour like finding lost money that will solve their problems.

Idle Christians would rather be busy with all church activities and vigils all week than spend time building their businesses, they believe their businesses will sell itself if they pray enough, so their shops are permanently closed.

Idle Christians do not make good spouses, they believe in prayers without hard work and live a mediocre life. Idle Christians end up poor, bitter, and unproductive.

Prov.19.15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. (KJV)

DECLARATION
I'm a son/daughter of God Most High, and I live to make my Father proud. I detest idleness because I understand the value of hard work and diligence. I'm heading for a glorious future Hallelujah.

GLORY IS COMING

BIBLE TEXT: Romans 8: 18-28

Rom.8.18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will give us later. (NLT)

Rom.8.28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (NLT)

It is easier for young struggling Christians to believe that God has forgotten them than for them to believe in the coming glory.

Your current predicament may be nothing to write home about, but that doesn't mean God has written you off. God is Faithful, especially to His own dear children.

In Over two decades of being a Christian I have seen several Christians glorified at their breaking point, God arrived for them just in time to save them from shame.

Do you wish to be married, successful, or healed? Do not focus on your present pain, you should rather believe in the coming glory.

You should dress like your testimony, speak like you have it, prepare for your testimony, and glorify the Lord. When you wait on God, you can be rest assured that He will show up at His appointed time.

God is never late, He's going to arrive at the right time to give you your expected miracle.

1Cor.2.9 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." (NLT)

DECLARATION

SELF-CONTROL IS IMPORTANT

BIBLE TEXT: Proverbs 25: 28

Prov.25.28 A person without self-control is as defenseless as a city with broken-down walls. (NLT)

What is the price to pay for lack of self control? Ask the prisoner who allowed a few minutes of uncontrolled anger instigate an unforgivable crime, ask a man that allowed his selfish lust to tear his beautiful family apart, and maybe you want to ask a woman that could not say NO in a moment of emotional weakness.

Battles have been fought, lives have been lost, marriages have been broken, and beautiful relationships have been buried because it is easier to give in to flimsy emotions than to exercise self-control.

The greatest harm you can inflict on yourself is to marry someone that lacks self-control, and you become a danger to others around you when you allow your emotions to override your sense of reasoning.

Do not make friends with someone that cannot control their appetite for s*x, food, and material things. When someone have lust for material possession, they can endanger people around them.

Prov.16.32 It is better to be patient than powerful; it is better to have self-control than to conquer a city. (NLT)

DECLARATION

INHERITED TRAITS

BIBLE TEXT: 2Timothy 1: 4-8

2Tim.1.5 I know that you sincerely trust the Lord, for you have the faith of your mother, Eunice, and your grandmother, Lois. (NLT)

2Tim.1.6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. (NLT)

When you ask so many singles what they are looking for in a life partner you'll hear things like "Someone that loves me, someone that is romantic, someone that is financially stable" etc. Some of the things we want out of marriage are motivated by selfishness and greed.

Have you ever thought about the fruits of the marriage and how they'll learn virtue and faith from your partner? Your children will biologically inherit certain traits from the person you marry, and their lives will be shapen by his/her faith or lack of it.

Timothy's strong faith in God was influenced by that of his mother Eunice, and Isaac inherited his faith and relationship with God from his father Abraham. Your partner will naturally pass some traits to your children, because children learn by example.

Some men will naturally go for a beautiful and well endowed woman, Beauty without virtue will put your lineage at risk. Women who sacrifice faith and virtue for wealth should also know that their partner will be an example to their kids.

Take time to think about the things you want in a life partner, and how it will affect your children. Your husband/wife will become a parent to your future children, choose wisely.

FORGIVENESS NOT RECONCILIATION

BIBLE TEXT: Matt.: 18:21-22

Matt.18.21 Then Peter came to him and asked, "Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?" (NLT)

Matt.18.22 "No!" Jesus replied, "seventy times seven! (NLT)

Forgiveness is when you choose to overlook offenses, and past hurt. It is you choosing not to hold grudges for past hurt, for your own peace and happiness. However, reconciliation is when you decide to restore relationships to it's formal position after forgiveness.

A lot of people have mistaken both to be same, and has committed errors they had to pay heavily for. You should not be quick to restore past relationships after forgiveness, this can be at your own detriment.

Forgiveness changes you, not the other person. Forgiveness restore your peace, and help you move on, but whether the offending party decides to change or not is left to them.

When you find yourself in a toxic relationship that you found dangerous, you can decide to forgive and move on, but do not restore such relationships without seeking counsel. Some relationships are best forgotten for you to live a better and happier life.

For instance, when someone attempts to kill you and was caught, you can choose to forgive such person but do not restore such relationship. This type of relationship can hurt you and endanger your life because your forgiveness does not change the other person.

You need to be wise to live a healthy life, but you need discernment to live a safer and happier life.

RETURNING TO YOUR VOMIT

BIBLE TEXT: 2 pet: 2-20-22

2Pet.2.20 And when people escape from the wicked ways of the world by learning about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up with sin and become its slave again, they are worse off than before. (NLT)

2Pet.2.21 It would be better if they had never known the right way to live than to know it and then reject the holy commandments that were given to them. (NLT)

2Pet.2.22 They make these proverbs come true: "A dog returns to its vomit," and "A washed pig returns to the mud." (NLT)

The worst that can ever happen to you as a Christian is to return to what Jesus saved you from.

You know who you were before you encountered Jesus, the sins He forgave you, and the lifestyle He redeemed you from. Going back to them is despising the cross.

If you found yourself falling into sin or temptation by error, it is a greater error to remain in it. It is time to go back to Him that bought you with a price.

Once you become born again you belong to God, and you should never believe the lie of the devil that God despised you and had abandoned you because you have sinned.

Your soul matters to God and you are precious to Him, the world has nothing to offer you.

DECLARATION
