Let’s raise awareness, honour lives affected, and reaffirm our commitment to equitable access to care and improved survival for all.

This year’s theme, Every Story is Unique, Every Journey Matters, reminds us that every journey carries a story of strength, resilience, and hope.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, with 2.3 million new cases and 670,000 deaths recorded in 2022 (World Health Organisation). Yet, when detected early, survival rates can reach 99% (CDC, 2024). This is a reminder of how early detection saves lives.

For the rest of October, we’ll be sharing helpful tips, inspiring stories, and important information to encourage early detection and support those affected.

Let’s continue to raise awareness, promote screening and early detection, and support those on their healing journey. Together, we can make every story count.

mDoc is live at the 4th Africa Health Tech Summit (AHTS) 2025!

This year’s summit brings together leaders from health, technology, and development sectors to explore how innovation can transform healthcare delivery across Africa. Under the theme “Connected Care: Scaling Innovation Towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC)”, conversations are focusing on how connected and intelligent technologies such as AI, IoT, and cloud computing can strengthen primary care and expand access to quality health services.

We’re excited to share that Adaora Odukwe, Senior Manager, Oncology & Tele-education will be representing mDoc on a panel session titled “Advancing Scalable and Sustainable Digital Health Innovations in Africa: Leveraging Insights from Nigeria.”

🕞 Time: 15:30 – 16:30
📍 Track: Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship
🏛 Room: AD 12

The session will be moderated by Dr. Niyi Osamiluyi, CEO of Premier Health Consult.
Joining the discussion are Dr. Emmanuella Zamba (Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health Management Agency), Melissa Miles (Program Officer, Gates Foundation), Oluwaleke Jegede (Project Director, SCIDaR), and Dr. Oluwafunmike Ogwa (Senior Manager & Team Lead, Service Delivery, VillageReach).

Are you at AHTS? Be sure to join this engaging session, which will explore evidence from digital-first care models in underserved Lagos communities and discuss how these insights can guide equitable, scalable, and sustainable digital health solutions across Africa.

Happy International Day of the Girl Child!

Today, we celebrate the power, resilience, and voices of girls everywhere. This year’s theme “The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the front lines of crisis” reminds us that girls are not just victims of challenges, but leaders of change.

Let’s continue to support and empower every girl to rise, lead, and shape a better, more equal world.
