JOB DESCRIPTION
The Quality Improvement Officer will coordinate, implement, and monitor quality improvement (QI) initiatives across the hospital. The role involves working with clinical and non-clinical staff to strengthen patient safety, compliance with national standards, and continuous service improvement.
• Develop and implement hospital quality improvement plans and policies.
• Conduct routine audits and monitor quality indicators.
• Train and mentor staff on QI methods, clinical audits, and patient safety practices.
• Support departments in identifying service delivery gaps and implementing corrective actions.
• Collect, analyze, and present data to hospital leadership and external stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement across all hospital departments.
EXPECTED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Management, or a related health sciences field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in healthcare service delivery, quality assurance, or public health.
Knowledge of QI methodologies, patient safety, and clinical governance.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a resource-constrained healthcare setting.
Postgraduate qualification in Public Health, Health Management, or related field will be an added advantage.
Certification or training in Quality Improvement or Patient Safety will be an added advantage.
Previous experience in hospital management, NGO projects, or working with government health systems will be an added advantage.
