How much did you save and make yesterday, cooking your Sunday Stew?

Mrs. Nwaka, woke up in the morning with no money to make her Sunday stew, she used to eat her remaining 4 cups of rice with her 3 children, who her late husband had left for her.

Immediately, she prepared her children for church, she rushed to one of her husband's farm land, with over 16 Oil Palm stands, scattered on all the plots of land, and surprisingly to her, 13 of them were carrying bunches with a total of 14 bunches fully ripe.

Nwaka was speechless as she had just harvested the Palm fruits in the last 2 months producing red Oil, which sells to pay her kids' school fees and buy their books and new school uniforms as they moved to the next classes.

She waited, thought for a while before she quickly rushed home, to get a headpan, empty sack bags, and a Cutlass. She harvested 6 bunches, while standing on the ground.

Before the congregation would have dismissed from Church, Nwaka, had finished selecting some of the Palm fruits and heads to take to the market to sell them.

In less than an hour, Nwaka was able to sell all her Palm fruits, she went to the market with and not only did she buy the things needed to prepare her banga stew - Ofe Akwu, she also made a reasonable amount of money that helped her buy some painters of rice and beans, that'll serve them for the week, with a pocket money left for her.

Basic things that affects Oil Palm plantation Success.

These are some of the simple basic things.

- Poor Seedlings - Buying poor quality seedlings. Seedlings that are not hybrid, affects the general success of your plantation.

- Congesting planting. Inappropriate planting using the wrong spacing reduces the plantation yield from the early stage.

- Lack of manure application. Not adding manure at all both organic or the inorganic fertilizer, weakens the plant and hinders the growth.

- Lack of Pest and w**d control. Allowing your plantation competes with w**ds, exposes them to pest, nutrients deficiency, and so on.

Don't make a mistake of ignoring these basic things in your plantation
