OYEWO SALUTES CHRISTIANS ON GOOD FRIDAY, HARPS ON ESSENCE OF EASTER CELEBRATION

A former member of the National Assembly, Hon. Bukola Oyewo, has extended his felicitations to Christians in Osogbo Federal Constituency as they commemorate Good Friday, emphasizing the significance of Christ's sacrifice and resurrection.

In a statement issued on Friday, April 3, 2026, Oyewo, an Osun APC chieftain, reflected on the true meaning of Good Friday and Easter, urging Christians to believe in Christ's death and resurrection, and to demonstrate their faith through righteous living.

He cited Matthew 7:21, stressing that mere profession of faith is insufficient, and that true discipleship requires obedience to God's will. The erstwhile Deputy Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Water Resources encouraged Christians to use Good Friday to reflect on their lives, make amends, and cultivate virtues such as faith, knowledge, temperance, patience, and charity, as enjoined by Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 1:5-7.

The former federal lawmaker urged them to pray fervently for the APC governorship candidate in Osun, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as he seeks to deliver a progressive and prosperous state.

Oyewo concluded by wishing Christians a meaningful and joyous Good Friday celebration.

In a statement issued on Sunday morning, Oyewo described the incident as "saddening and unfortunate". He extended his sympathies to victims of the downpour in other parts of the state.

The former lawmaker representing Osogbo Federal Constituency urged residents to focus on mitigating natural disasters through actions like tree planting and warned against indiscriminate tree felling. He thanked Olorunda Local Council Chairman, Alhaji Kunle Kudaisi, for his prompt response and support to affected households.

Hon. Oyewo said efforts would be made to secure support from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to cushion losses.

OYEWO GRACES YEYE OGE INSTALLATION IN IFON-OSUN, ATTENDS HOUSE COMMISSIONING WITH DIGNITARIES

Former lawmaker representing Osogbo Federal Constituency, Hon Olubukola Oyewo, graced the installation of Princess Oluwatoyin Aderonke Akinyooye as the Yeye Oge of Ifon-Osun on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

The event drew a galaxy of dignitaries, including Oba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola Ilufemiloye Akinyooye III, the Olufon of Ifon Orolu, royal fathers, chiefs, and politicians from across Osun State.

Hon Oyewo, accompanied by his team, joined in celebrating the occasion, which marked a significant milestone in Ifon-Osun's cultural life. The installation rites followed traditional Yoruba customs.

The ceremony was followed by a house commissioning, where prayers were offered for peace and prosperity. The event concluded with the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, officially opening the Yeye Oge's new residence.
